Yeah, just a question on alcohol, I drink on the weekend when I'm out with my mates, generally only on a Saturday night anything from a pint or 2 up to absolute benders where my memory of how much I consumed isn't so good (obviously super drunk only occurs on rare occasions; mates birthdays etc).
How badly does alcohol affect your body in terms of fitness? And who else drinks or doesnt?
To keep it in perspective, I've begun training in Muay Thai about a month ago, training 2-3 times a week in the gym and doing jog and cycling sessions in my spare time.
Also, I cut all fast foods and very fatty or sugary foods out of my diet. Anything that isn't obvious to cut from the diet, and things to try to have more of.
Cheers - Mick

I like a drink.
The odd beer here and there won’t do any harm i don’t think, and can be a good thing mentally to stop you craving it.
However if you have any big sporting events/fights coming up id advise cutting out the binges well over a month before hand.
In my opinion, if you’re not a paid athlete and you just want to stay healthy and enjoy life, nothing wrong with having a few beers every sat night with mates and having a bender every now and then.
Just sip plenty of water to recover!

Remember you need some fats and some sugars lol carbohydrates or your body will burn through its glucose supply then eat your muscles. Also, remember if you drink alot of water make sure you have enough salt in your system. keep up your electrolytes. If you eat protein make sure its easly diggested and is diggested before you eat your next protein filled meal. lol balance does the body good. :D My personal secret is to make a smoothy with frozen raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and vegatables with water right before I eat a meal.
I've tried it, don't know whether I like it though

I probably don't have to tell you that you aren't going to be training hard the night after a bender :D

Just what kind of bender are you talking about Yo?? :D
Ya'll want to try drinking beer while training, that'l turn a few heads...
It's the best way to get realistic training, well for me anyway, as the only time im in any public place, apart from training, im usually pissed! :D

Hell you obviously know what kind of bender I'm talking about ;)
Seriously though I've done loads of fighting whilst drunk. My brother and I tend to scrap after we've reached .012 blood alcohol level.

Alcohol intake spikes insulin levels (which can lead to fat storage), and then can quickly drop a person into a hypoglycemic state where they continue to crave sugary drinks and junk food.
Some research also concluded that it inhibits testosterone production, and increases estrogen production. It can also lead to muscle loss.
So not only are you making yourself lose muscle, but you are giving yourself a better chance of creating the sexy man-boob look.
