I have made a personal decision to get into martial arts, and was looking around for a good school. I don't really know which one to take, and all the options out there make it even more difficult.

I have seen many places that mix a couple or even several arts together in their training. There is a place up the street from my house that teaches Taekwondo but mixed in with the Taekwondo program is Combat Hapkido. When I talked to the instructor he said that learning Combat Hapkido (after the 4-6 months of Taekwondo) is most beneficial to a Taekwondo artist.

He said they mix in more and more Combat Hapkido as you progress in belts.

Would you guys and gals agree with that? Do Taekwondo and Combat Hapkido mix well together? It seems like it would, with the Taekwondo teaching all the kicks and the Combat Hapkido teaching joint locks, pressure points, grappling and disarming techniques...

The instructor said they also mix in a little boxing too.

Thoughts?

PS,

This is my first time on the board... I have really enjoyed learning more about all the different styles from you guys on this board!
