I practice Karate for a great art, the self defence and strength is extra.
If by "fun" you mean something true to itself and its teachings and what its all about; then yes.;)

It's fun and addictive.
First my body is addicted to the workout and the rush of a good Karate practice. After a good practice you body will have pumped it self full off seditives and other wonderfull things.
Fun part is dooing something you are happy with afterwards. You are aiming for a sertain thing. Improving stance or higher kick what ever your goal may be. The advancements of character that come with increase the fun factor.
Even if all of your muscles are weak and you can hardly breath you still think wow that was fun. But I'm gonna die n ow.
I think you have to try Karate and to give your best to feel your best.
Regards Kerling
I love my kyokushinkai. For an art to have that much effect on me that I still wanted to do it years after I left the style originally, its gotta be good :)

I just love getting out of the house and leaving the wife and kids behind(ok I'm only jokeing) I enjoy that dull ache in my body that I
get a day or two after a really good work out, I love teaching karate and seeing the pleasure that others get from it. Learning something new yourself is always a great bonus. Like Kgirl I had a few years out and missed it like mad, now I think about karate nearly all the time and regret stopping. Lets not forget having good friends to train with. Even after a hard days work I never fail to leave the dojo without feeling invigorated and can't wait for the next session.

i love karate. i got involved with it for self defence at first but its taught me so many things. i know for a fact i'm never going to stop. whenever i spar, everything dissapears its just me and my opponent. that rush is worth anything. also, its given me strength, both physical, and mental...and spiritual. :bang:

I've always had an interest with MA. Its fun, and gives me more self confidence, strength, and discipline. I also like the varietys(sp?) there must be hundreds of styles, most of which ive never heard of. So in a way, it makes you unique because even if you take something common like Judo, or TKD, you can add what is your own.

I practice Karate for loads of reasons; self-defence, it helps my asthma, it keeps me fit, it's one of the greatest stress relievers I know, it's a great way of meeting people, there's some seriously fit girls in the class (sorry but at the end of the day I am still a 19yr old guy! :D ) but above all else, because it's fun.
If something's not fun then I don't want to do it - this is a serious problem I have with my essays etc at uni as well come to think of it! But seriously, like Kerling said, your body pumps itself full of weird and wonderful chemicals during a training session which make you feel good during it and afterwards.
Being at uni I miss my Wado club like hell - It's a fun 'n' friendly atmosphere where you can have a laugh with the instructor and other students as well as actually learning something. Likewise when I'm at home I miss my Shoto club - arguably the most sociable club on campus, no training session's complete without all the students and senseis rolling down to the pub for a few drinks! hmm... Santa Social's on Wednesday, I need to go buy a Christmas hat - Catch ya later guys!
