Maniwa Nen-ryu 馬庭念流. However, these days I have seen it referred to in publications as simpliy "Nen-ryu".
Very interesting. They have unusual looking techniques. Nen-ryu is one of the oldest surviving koryu, is it not?

Yes I heard this too, maybe like Yagyu shinkage ryu sometimes reffering to Shinkage ryu?
They have unusual looking techniques.
It's the first time I see their techniques in action. They also have some kind of free sparring, and have some very impressive kiai; or so I heard.
Nen-ryu is one of the oldest surviving koryu, is it not?
Yes Nen ryu was founded in 1368 and is now extinct, but Maniwa Nen ryu is a later branch of it. How are the two comparable? Impossible to say.
