Was mucking about sparring with no gloves on with a mate of mine the other week when i blokced a dodgey front kick wrong ancrushed my middle finger, needless to say was very painful and the next day it went a lovely greeny/purple and was twice the size.

Anyway its been over a month now and the bruising appears to all be gone however i still cant fully close my finger, for example when i make a fist my middle finger is sticking out as it doesnt fold down properly there is a bout another 1cm for it to go but appears to have stopped improving completely now? there is still some pain in a little spot on the side of the fore nuckel where i think there is a little tendon or something?

Has anyone else had this? should i get some physio?

sounds like you stowed it, see a dr, but a stow can take a fair amount of time to heal.

When dealing with finger injuries, it is a concept in my profession that "it is a race against time to get rid of any swelling that deposits itself in the finger joints because they harden up so fast that it is so hard to get rid of (usually takes months). I would suggest seeing a physiotherapist, especially somebody that specializes in hand therapy and what they will do can vary between using an ultrasound (with your finger underwater) to dissolve adhession or soaking your finger in paraffin wax prior to range of motion with stretching. More than likely, your doctor will probably refer you to one anyway.
