Hey Marku, looking at your Avatar and signature made me remember something. I did a talk on Manga and Anime when I was at school. The English teacher wasn't impressed at all!

Cool. However, I would like to suggest, do not attempt to discuss the 'moves and techniques' of Jeet Kune Do, b/c it is a philosophy. Read the Tao of Jeet Kune Do for research.

I'm sorry but if JKD is just a philosophy, then hell it might just be mumbo jumbo to many. What's the point of the philosophy without any form of physical expression or explanation? If you were to demonstrate a technique (to tigerans), i would like to recommend the lead punch.. it is the easiest to execute in terms of mechanics but takes a great deal to cultivate. you can discuss the logic or principles in the proper execution of the lead punch (ie. discuss vertical fist structure or diagonal fist, how to gain power etc.) I'm just trying to offer some tips .. i hope you don't take it the wrong way. If you ask anyone around for the JKD portion .. i'm sure you'd get some answers.. if you want you could try and e mail me .. I'd be more than open to helping you out. Because to me, JKD is MORE than mere "philosophy".

If you read the Tao of JKD, you'll find plenty of discussion of moves and techniques. Complete with in-depth analyses of many of them. You can say that JKD is a philosophy. And there's some truth to that. But that philosophy was expressed in various ways, as JKD-SD619 pointed out.

For instance, there's much discussion of the straight lead punch. Why? Because it was the physical application of Lee's ideas. Same with the lead leg side kick. Etc.

There's plenty of room to discuss technique in JKD.

.... hey why not. I checked my extensive list of bookmarks for Lee Jun Fan ("Bruce Lee") and found just this one ... but it is a good one (although the font color may make your brain bleed!)...
