I was wondering what would be a good complimentary standup ma to cross train with my bjj?
My situation is that I want a standup ma that I could get reasonably ok at without committing to much time to as I want to concentrate on bjj.
I was thinking boxing or thai boxing.
Any replys appreciated.

Both are good, but works different aspects, personally think MT is the best bet as, IMO, it's more versatile and has a little more in the way of striking options

thai boxing is the answer if your aiming for mma competition however if you are looking for a quick and effective MA to learn for self defence then look to boxing.

either is good. depends on what you want. if you want to compete in mma, add wrestling as well. if you just want to be well-rounded, boxing or MT fits the bill just fine.

If you are paying for two MAs, boxing is usually less expensive than MT. Either will be beneficial for MMA.

I would push in the direction of MT, since you get to kick and everything.

maybe boxing for now since it would probably be easier to learn. and then maybe after a year or two you can "upgrade" to kicks and stuff in bjj.

Cheers for the input guys.
I think I might give boxing a go as its cheaper and perhaps easier to learn in the short term.
