Hi all. My son will be taking his Black Belt test in 3 weeks. He's 16 yrs old. His idea of dieting is to starve himself. A quick breakfast before school, 1 sandwich for lunch and mabe dinner around 8 p.m. What he had for Thanksgiving would not have fed our dog. I'm always picking on him to eat more.
Anyway, with his test coming up, its supposed to be 10:30 in the morning and 4-5 hrs long, I'm wondering what he can eat that will sustain him for that time. I don't want to stuff him and then have him throw up during the test. And I don't need him passing out either.
Would a one time breakfast do any good, or would slowly feeding him for a couple of days prior to the test be better?

Good luck with him.

You need to drill it into him that this kind of eating is not only not enough, it is detrimental to every aspect of his health and his martial arts prowess! There are tons of good nutrition articles out there, you might want to point him in that direction to get him to realise this fact. You won't get through to him by bugging him. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Feed him slowly for a couple of days. If he's got the willpower to starve himself, he's probably got the willpower to get on a serious nutrition plan.
