Ladies and Gentlemen,
I believe everyone has the ability to teach us something in life. Even though the harmony of our site was temporarily disrupted by childish individuals that had nothing intelligent to contibute,
we remained in control and respectfully dealt with their outrageous outbursts. Physical violence usually begins with
verbal abuse. This was a lesson in controlling anger.
If your anger goes forward withhold yor hand.
If your hand goes forward withhold your anger.

Good observation. I like Robert Heinlein's little thought on temper: "Your enemy is never a villain in his own eyes. Keep this in mind, it may offer a way to make him your friend. If not, you can kill him without hate--and quickly."
Even if it doesn't go that far for me in real life, the first half certainly applies.

Very well put ladyhawk. I have said this on a few occasions, but I will say it again,
"I feel Martial Arts Planet is the friendliest and most open site on the web due to the great members we have on here, this site belongs to you. Myself and ghostsuit are just here to keep it up and running."

Hey, these kids actually set out to destroy the forum, and we got rid of them without losing any decorum.
Credit goes all round really; to the members for keeping cool and never descending to their level, and to the admin for taking personal attacks on the chin as well as an attack on the forum they strive so hard to uphold.............. Not least though to Chazz and Mel, who had to remain calm under some very personal and unpleasant insults. In Melanie's case this was not the first time, as we had a similar, more vulgar attack earlier on this year.
In actual fact we owe some thanks to these idiots, cos they made us all stronger, and appreciate what we have even more.
I raise my glass to everyone

I'd also like to make a point. I'm sure it's not necessary at all. But ... just for the record ...
I don't know about martialway.com ... I don't think I've ever been there (amazing, huh? :-)
However, I have been a member of defend.net for a couple of years and I'm even personally acquainted with the guy who runs that forum.
These kids made the same types of negative posts on defend.net ... might still be making them. I don't know. They're on my "ignore" list (something I've only done a couple of times because, overall, I'm a very patient person).
So ... on the off chance that someone actually got the impression that those yay-hoos were somehow connected with defend.net ... it's not the case. And, I would guess, it's also not the case with martialway.com
Anyway ... like I said, I'm sure you were all already aware of this ... but I felt it important to say something since I've met Tim Mousel (the owner of defend.net) and have, in person and on his forum, found him to be a knowledgable martial artist and a good guy.

Andy, did you know that your first sentence rhymed? Have you put it to music or it just a matter of (work)life relecting art :)
At least they're just 'virually' running around annoying people than spray painting cars or something...
