I was wondering if anyone has a comprehensive list of the weapons of Hwa Rang do. Apparently they have about 108 traditional Korean weapons in their curriculum. I was just currious as to what they were. I can't even think of 108 weapons let alone that many specific Korean weapons. Not to say that I don't believe that they don't have them, I'm honestly curious as to what they are.
If anyone knows of a website or has some type of text file, or if you just want to paste them into the post it would be much appreciated. All of my research thus far has turned up zilch.
I realize that this is the Hapkido forum, but Hwa Rang Do is a close relative, and this post would probably just get lost in the "other" forum.

hmmm... for my understanding, the 108 weapons are in 20 catagories. first 10 categories reflect use and the last 10 categories reflect shape or form
the idea is by learning these various weapon systems, the practitioner can use any available object as a weapon as the situation demands
some weapons are tradtional and probably haven't been seem for years and would be very hard to translate into engish lol~ :)

here is a link about traditional weapons
hope that helps
as for the number 108, it's just a special number in asian culture, such as 18 or 49, it's very likely there are more weapons than 108
chinese traditionally divide weapons into 18 catagories
- sabre, spear, sword, halberd, axe, battle-axe, hook, fork, jointed iron staff, mace, hammer, talon, trident halberd, cudgel, lance, short cudgel, stick, meteor hammer.
(not in the right order :P)
here's a link to right order of weapons in chinese
and for example, there are 13 different kinds of spears

I got pretty long list of these weapons, over 90, but in fact most of them are Chinese origin and You will not find them during HRD class, even black belt.
Not for every of these weapons I got Korean name, and 20 divisions are a little bit strange, especially when the same weapon can be classified in 3 or more ways.
