Just surfing around and came across this website.

http://nonoshapkido.com/home.html

From the bottom of the front page...

"Like scores of other parents in the South Bay, even Martial Arts Legend Royce Gracie sends his children to Nono for instruction, noting "teaching one's own child is very difficult...I let Nono take care of them."

It also looks like this guy is a coach or training partner with Royce himself. Obviously, it looks like his school is more than just Hapkido, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. Oh, and I'm definitely not trying to start any "Hapkido vs. BJJ" discussion! Just thought it was interesting that's all. ;)

Nono was/is also Royce's coach and trains him in Hapkido and has for many years.

I didn't realize that. Of course, the last time I watched Royce Gracie fight was in one of the early UFCs over a decade ago. I'm assuming he would be interested in Hapkido to improve his striking?

When there is so much X vs. Y propaganda out there amongst the lower level practitioners of many styles, it's really refreshing to see people at the high levels of their own styles working with the high ups of other styles. People should be looking at them, or Carlson Gracie and Samuel Kwok and emulate them regarding their interactions with other styles.

I know Carlson Gracie before his death, became associated with combat hapkido. It's nice to see someone like Royce training in hapkido. It's just shows how a great martial artist like Royce is willing to cross train. Personally I think hapkido and BJJ is a real good mix.

If I'm not mistaken it was Carlson Gracie Jr. that was associated with CH at one point. I attended a seminar with him and Pellegrini.

This explains so much about Royce's standup. No wonder he loves those snappy kicks so much.

Greetings

Yes it was Carlson Gracie (JR.) not senior who was breifly associated with Combat HKD.

I wonder why it never panned out into anything or any videos???

I wonder if Carlson Gracies Sr. death had anything to do with that?
