STOP!
You shouldn't feel sharp pains when doing this, so you've injured yourself in some way. Rest the leg and see a Doctor.

If you are experiencing pain in the quadracep then IMO your terminology is poor since you are not realy using this muscle to do anything....... unless horror of horrors you are pointing your toes while doing the raises.
Please give a full description of:
a) The exact technique you use when doing the raises
b) exactely in the leg you fell the pain
Thank you! :D

I would have to agree w/ JohnG. Rest it. Do you stretch often?

yea i stretch everyday way to much... when i do front leg raises i keep my supporting leg bent and lock up my knee with my raised leg and keep my toes pointed up
So if I'm understanding you correctly, you lock out the leg you're raising? I don't think you should be doing that, locking out the joints isn't good, try and keep the leg relaxed when you raise it. Don't lock it.
Sharp pain usually = injury of some kind. The worst injuries I've had have been ones where I think I haven't injured myself, but somewhere along the line I have. Get it checked out, your could have torn something. Do you get pain at any other times?

Ummm... you can't really strech it if it's not locked.

Sounds like a psoas (Hip flexor) strain.

You're supposed to relaxe completely when stretching, so nothing gets torn.
