yea i know its not like me to post in the beginner section but i do need help.

ok my question is how are you able to get so much air for a flying side kick (dragon kick?) to the face?

Plyometrics...
(Carefully) and using good common sense will aid your jumping, leaping etc ability.

So if you ever feel like kicking someone off a horse, you will be able to.

Build stronger calves muscle, there what gets you on air when it comes to height. When you actually perform the kick make sure you lean back and keep your legs tucked close before kicking. Doing that you will achieve your max height for flying kick, but mainly practice is the key. Find things out yourself through trials and errors, we all go through different paths to learn things, because were all build differently. Furthur advice are welcome. PM me if you wish.

Yeah, you could jump off of something (preferably a trampoline) too.:p

As Sokklab said,start training with Plyometrics.
