my pool has an extremely steep slope where it drops off and i ran sprints up it, and i was trying to pedal and move my feet as fast as possible to jack up the intensity. now, i burned out in about half the time as any thing in dry land that i've ever done, and because its in water, my abs were worked alot more than regular. so after that i swam. i'm wonderin if you guys think that this would be a good substitute for sprints and running on dry land and stuff, since its got no impact on my knees and it wears me out as quick or quicker, or do i still need to do intense sprinting and running on land(after which my knee is stiff for about half an hour)? i could probly change my running up to focus on endurance as well, but i'd just have no accurate way to measure distance ran. any input on this would be superb. this worked my calves and foot muscles(i don't know scientific names) alot more too.

If you live by the beach you should do sand runs. The impact is much less. Or you could find a park and run in the grass. It's a lot better than running foot to asphalt ya know? I think you should do some swimming in your pool! That's what it's for right? :D Running up any hill will kill your calves! Not just in the water. :p

DUDE, THATS LIKE, A GREAT IDEA...I'M GONNA TRY IT ON THURS WHEN I DO IT AGAIN! yeah, it'll be even slicker, so i'm gonna have to run my butt off to avoid falling on my face(which won't hurt as much in the pool.) yeah, i'm about 20 mins from the beach, and i love runnin on the sand, but it kills my calves, which is a good thing!
