Hi Bear....

Yes, me and George Davidson, (who is on the board of Edinburgh's Dawn Duellists), recently formed this Group. At present George is teaching German medieval Longsword while I am involved in medieval dagger techniques;
other western weapon arts while be taught at a later stage.

Training is on a Sunday afternoon (3-5pm) at Partick Burgh Halls in Partick, Glasgow.

Cheer!

Hi Louie,
Fantastic, it would be good to train with you again.
If it's ok I might stop by.

Yes, no problem... :D
There are between 4-6 of us training at the moment with a few experienced Edinburgh punters popping in now and again. We've only been going a few months so training gear is limited at the moment, (blades, gambesons and masks), hopefully a recent grant application to buy some practice sets will rectify that.
- My own longsword, mask & gambeson are on order; the cheapest longsword is around £80, gambeson £80, you already have a 1600N mask so you wouldn't need that, Lacrosse gloves are around £20.

Louie,

You don't call, you don't write :p

Glad to hear your teaching again :D :D

If your cool with it, I'd like to jump along & have a play after Lonely Dog goes home. I've not seen George in years & it'd be nice to catch up.

Tell him Kik & I say hi.

Hi Hig....

How are you.... you didn't reply to my last email!!!!!! :D

Miss our previous sparring sessions but I haven't been doing any single-stick work at all since last training with you due to a debilitating right-shoulder injury (rotator-cuff) which just seemed to appear without warning...
Hasn't stopped me entirely though and started practicing with a hand & half sword as it requires both hands and there are only a few moves that require me to lift my right arm above my head!!! I'm still not 100% yet but getting better.....
Yes, pop-in anytime, George is doing most of the teaching & is assesing our 'control' with the longsword at the moment before he lets us loose on each other and as mentioned we're short of equipment so have yet to get some proper sparring - watched George and an Edinburgh DDS member fighting with the longswords and it's pretty scary stuff - so looking forward to getting my own blade and giving it a go!!!!

Will pass on your message :)

All the best!
Louie
