is my belt valid just because my instructor is listed in bjj.org?

if my instructor wasn't listed @ bjj.org will that mean that my belt doesn't mean anything since my instructor isn't listed there?

There are lots of people not listed on bjj.org who should be - its far from a complete list, merely the closest to comprehensive currently available.

Best way to test if your belt means something is to go compete and see how you do.

Perhaps you should post whom your instructor is (after all if he's already on the net he shouldn't really mind, as i understand it BJJ is very good for that kind of thing). Then the BJJ guys can tell you whom valid your belt is.

BJJ.org doesn't even exist at the moment. They're checking the validity of all the belts and updating the site as they switch it over to OTM... it's probably not going to be ready for sometime still

Your belt is probably about as valid as most of your thick posts here at MAP.

And it looks like BJJ.org is still up and running. I just checked my own linage :p
