ok, so who is going to this?

its kinda funny cause the Brazilians have to qualify in order to compete at this while everybody else can just enter at will.

I think eventually they plan to bring in qualifiers for other parts of the world, so the Europeans would be qualifiers for the Worlds, the Pan-pacifics, and so on and so forth. It's just not practical to expect guys to fly to Brazil (say) so that they can fight a qualifier for the Mundials. So I think in the next five or ten years they'll globalise properly and things will get sorted. So I'm making the most of the time we have now. ^_-

so what weight class are you fighting in pikachu?

Stalkachu

Either featherweight or lightweight blue. Hopefully featherweight, but it's quite a lot of weight to cut. -_- Gonna test out and see if I can make 70 no-gi for the FILA trials, and then try and cut down that extra kilo and a half to make 70 in a gi. Fingers crossed. @_@

...diets suck. -_-

You do realize the event is gonna be absolute anarchy, right? They want to do the entire white belt division and some of the blue belt in the same day, for crying out loud. We're gonna be there from 9 am until about midnight every day. No kidding. @_@

Still, my hardcore weight cutting regime is paying off, and I'm on target to lose the three kilos that will cut me to featherweight, so I think it only appropriate I make my featherweight debut at the mundials. W00t! (Particularly when I started competing at middleweight. @_@)

23rd - 27th August. Long Beach, California.

If memory serves. Then again, I'm going there, so I might have to check up beforehand. ^_^

I wish I were closer, ought to be some great matches and I'd pay to be a spectator. But at my experience level, I'm not paying that kind of money to travel, register, stay in a hotel, and miss a couple of muy importante court appearances on behalf of clients just to get my butt kicked in round one.

Maybe next year :p

If you come out here, you can stay in my guest room! That way you don't have to pay for a hotel room.

Woo! Stephen Martin, winner of juvenile blue lightweight is from my club! Congrats mate.

Will be rooting for Otavio Sousa too in the brown belt category, not sure which weight though? He's been teaching us for the last 9 months.

Not sure if Victor Estima is competing? He was injured but he's listed in the athletes list on the site

There was a white belt division though, although it wasn't listed on the site.
