I always tought cafeine was bad but recently I read somewhere that it actually has benefits but gets bad when you drink too much.
What is "too much"?
One cup every morning is good? Or will that make me rely on cafeine?

There is research out there (which I would dig out if I wasnt going out in a minute) that does say caffeine can be beneficial. 1 cup a day isn't going to make you into a coffee addict,I drink a couple of cups of good black coffee each day and it seems fine. I think it has been shown to assist in fat burning (Im sure one of the h&f guys around will be more specific).
I find that decent quality coffee (arabica beans) sits better than having cheapo stuff. :)

I've seen a host of information and studies supporting coffee and caffeine, I'm to lazy to bring them up now. But as far as I'm concerned, no need to worry about it.

PS, makes for a great pre-workout supplment, caffeine does.

Caffeine is great as a coffee or tea. The antioxidants in tea and coffee are really healthy. In sodas or energy drinks or as an isolated super caffeine pill, with all those untested chemicals and sugers, I don't necessarily think it is a good thing unless you work 12 hours or more a day like me.

I work from home most of the time and my daily routine includes 1 pot of tea in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, that's 6 mugs of tea a day. When I'm not working at the weekends I don't drink tea at all so I'm not addicted to it or anything, no shakes or cravings. I can't say it helps me keep weight off though....unless I'm meant to be several stones heavier than I am now and the tea's been keeping it off without me realising!

Just incase anyone was wondering, the reasons caffiene is used to "lose fat" is because:

a) increases metabolism
b) breaks down fat (frees fatty acids) conversion of fat to energy is about 30 percent more efficient when caffeine is consumed prior to exercise
c) While the fat is being burned, glycogen and glucose are being reserved to an extent.
