Hey guys.
Im 17
Just looking for some help towards my hip and leg flexibility. Currently I stretch daily, warming up for 15 mins with my skipping rope and my stetching routine lasts about half an hour. It consists of side straddle split position, Butterfly stretch, side splits sitting down applying pressure to my stretch with my feet against the wall, raising up a leg with a leg pulley system. If any one has any tips or things I could do differently to make my flexibility greater I would appreciate it. At the moment I can pul off head high kicks on people alot taller than me so am not that un-flexible.
My stretching routine also has one which we do at Muay Thai which I train mon tue thurs and some fridays but it is not full on flexibility.

Thanks

I've heard cod liver oil increases flexibility, give it a try. But otherwise, everything looks okay.

Hips, the pigeon=>http://www.yogacards.com/yoga-postures-2/kapotasana-pigeon-pose.html, the pigeon will help with your splits too.

Legs, is it your quads or your hams? Or, if you are male, it could be both.

Try a yoga class. Remember, start slow and learn to breath, it will help over time.

it could be that the structural properties of your hip joints limit your flexibility, and you're feeling either bone-on bone action or ligaments pulling. flexibility is a function of :
structural properties of the joint
elastic properties of the muscle & tendon
elastic properties of the ligaments around the joint
elastic properties of the skin

If your hips are hurting then its because you most likely need to stick out your pelvis -posture is very important and it will make a big difference.

And yes, I would read Stretching Scientifically.
