I always seem to be hungry for food (carbs mainly) I was just wondering What I could eat to help make myself feel a bit more fuller for longer.

Thanks.

Ok Hapuka- some tough love here!
I know you have problems and you really do hear my sympathy. However, you keep asking for advice and people keep giving it to you. By now you should have a full exercise regime and eating plan from the threads you have posted here in the recent months. Then you talk about taking a break from ma.

If you are taking a break then yes you need to watch what you eat- but people have already given you advice on this.

If you are going to continue training ,again people have given you excellent advice on what to eat,how to train and how to deal with your depression.

You have low self esteem and people round here try and help and give you advice but in the end ,it is up to you! If you feel fat ,sad, tired, hungry, whatever, then you need to see your G.P!! It's all very well asking for advice all the time on forums, but ultimately it's up to you to turn things around, with the help of your family and medical attention.

Please- do something positive and turn things round for yourself! :) Just make that call to your g.p or talk to a parent or something.

Good! :)

We all mean well Hapuka and want you to be healthy and happy, but it needs to start with yourself :)

I have to second everything Su Lin said. And please do let us know how it goes as well! I know we're harsh with you sometimes, but we do genuinely want you to get yourself better. :)

And a quick modly point, there's a no-hotlinking images policy in place on MAP at the moment. (See here.) (http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67520) Since yours is from the Telegraph, it's unlikely to cause any problems so I'll leave it for now. But could you delete the hotlink and either upload it to MAP or to a photobucket account please. I'll give you a few hours before I go ahead and just delete it.

I have the same problem, Ill eat a meal then 15 minutes later ill think im hungry haha. I attribute it to the high levels of thyroid hormone in my blood.

Maybe you should look into it, my parents thought something was wrong with my stomach when i was a bit younger. I allways complained of being hungry and craved carbs like heck. Turns out im borderline hyperthyroidal.

I have the same problem - I have a decent sized healthy breakfast with a fruit smoothy every morning, hour or so later im starting to get hungry. Wait til lunch, have a good nutritious lunch then by mid-afternoon im hungry AGAIN. All this after a good workout around 7am.

To me that's just a normal appetite. 3 meals a day has never been close to enough food, despite the size of the meals.

You should try eating more protein and fat combined, this will help you to feel fuller for longer and stop the carb cravings. You need dietary fat for mental well being as well as procuring testosterone, that might help you more I have been using six meals a day for the past 5 years and had no luck getting anywhere, with either losing weight or gaining muscle, I just either lost/gained a few pounds here or there. If you really want to stop hunger eat eggs

seems like i'm posting this a lot but have a read of this - http://drbass.com/rosedale.html

as to your carb craving it's down to the fact that carbs are used first as a turbocharger for your system if you main energy supply is from this part of your diet you're on a rollercoaster of peaks and crashes - have a look at low GI diets as well as it's about maintaining a constant blood sugar level

Same here. I can sit and do nothing but work on the computer and still need food pretty much constantly. As my parents say, I'm like I was when I was a baby - need feeding every 2 hours and on the bottle, only now the bottle is Brown Ale :D

Strangely though, no matter how much I eat (and it could include a few packets of biscuits washed down with 2 litres of Pepsi Max) I've never put on any weight. I was 9.5 stone until I started working in a warehouse a couple of months ago and have put on more weight in that time than I have in the past 5 years :p
