Doing MA has made me appreciate life.

I can now do things that I never thought I would be able to do-these are not amazing and lots of people can do them but they make me happy to be me.

A lot of people have negative thoughts about themselves.
The idea of this thread is to make you pleased to be you and see how great you are.
If you've done something today that has made you happy to be you then tell us about it so that if you do have a bad day you can come back to this and be reminded that you are really quite good after all.

The things that have made me happy to be me in the last little while- I’ve been studying quite hard, I have been getting fitter, I broke a brick in TKD, when I spar at boxing I can quickly identify gaps in their defence, I’ve been getting better at chess.

Nothing special, anyone can do these things- it just makes me happy that I have done them.

So go on, what have you done today to make yourself proud/pleased/happy happy to be you?

Oh yeah, this was my 100th post :)

Congratualtions on number 100 :). For me I'm happy to live somewhere I get to study an art that is thousands of years old, and be part of that heritage/tradition. Plus the self confidence thing is great too.

Thats one of the goals of martial arts, to see within ones self and make ourselves a better person. Keep it up!!

Screwed up a calculus midterm, screwed up a geometry midterm and smoked too many cigarettes.

Let me tell you about a lovely place that I like to visit every once in a while. When I've screwed up or I'm feel bad about me, I go to this place and unload all my shi*- its called "Andy's rant thread" :D

Happy ranting (oxymoron? ;) )

I have a lot of hassles in life at the moment but see no reason to let that interfere with a general feeling of good-to-be-aliveness or joi de vivre (I know I spelt that wrong!). Being happy for no good reason is a great reason to be happy :)

This morning, particularly happy because last night I made it to class for the first time in a couple of months and this morning I'm aching all over. My hands are trembling and I have trouble holding a pen and writing :D

Rgds,
David
