Hi , I've just started practising Tae Kwon Do, and am wanting to learn the various kicks, blocks, punches etc. But as I'm a very big 14 year old, I've bee nthrow in at the deep en with blue kup + above, and I'm wary if the instructor thinks i NEED to be shown the basics. But, I only have experience with Muay Thai and there are a few alien kicks and blocks.
So can any one explain, or tell me of a web site that can show me all the basics?
:)

Why should you be wary that your instructor show you the basic? When you learn a new style, you have to start fresh and not to compare your old experience with the new. Especially TKD, i mean different federation has slightly different basics. Learn all your TKD from your instructor and not from some web site. If you are experience as you say then your instructor can easy tell, and will tailor the teaching to your level. So no worry.

In my personal humble advice, I recommend practicing the basics over and over. In your case, being new to TKD and regardless of past experience adn ability, I would recommend patience for the following reasons:
(1) Watch and listen to the master as s/he explains how to do them. You may learn an interesting point that you missed before (Even as a 3rd dan, I pay close attention and learn new things each time the master explains something 'new'.)
(2) A Martial Art is based on the basics. The entire path to black belt and beyond is paved with practice of the basics. Learn to enjoy doing the same kicks over and over. Don't be complacent... try to do your best each time.
(3) As a new student, the master may be testing your patience, ability level, and control with 'safe' techniques before teaching you more advanced stuff.

I would say the same as the other guys.
But a good website to look at would be:
http://www.ir.isas.jp.ac/~cpp/TKD
