Hi guys,
I was wondering if anybody could give me some tips for progressing my planche. I'm working on Coach Sommer's (http://www.dragondoor.com/articler/mode3/229/) program but am finding it impossible to go from the frog stand to a tuck planche. I have tried doing the straight armed frog stand but can't hold that either as my elbows keep giving out. Are there any other exercises I can use to help, either weights or bodyweight?
Cheers!

Bring your legs inside and rest them on the inside of the elbows which should make it slightly easier. Weighted dips realy help according to the beastskills guy.

Cheers, I will try the knee thing - I haven't progressed to weighted dips yet!

How about a low box or step to give assistance to the position and allow you to "feel" the correct allignment before trying without the step?
Might work?

Do the dips unweighted then. lol, you cant just do straight arm work.

Yeah, I'm doing the dips unweighted and hoping to build up to the weighted ones as soon as I can.
I'm also trying the low box thing - I think its just going to take time and commitment!
Cheers guys!

I am doing the same dragon door training program. My tuck planche isn't so shabby either. I progressed fairly quickly form the frog stand to the tuck.
I didn't really do anything special... Just followed what the guy said.
Try working those push ups with your hands at your side and your body leaning way over your hands. You bend your elbows pointing backwards along the length of your body. Those are on beast skills too.
