Hi Folks,

trawled this from another forum;

Click Me! (http://www.bible-truths.org/tracts/martia~1.htm )

I guess you have to ask yourself some questions here;

1/ Does your Dojo ever get unnaturally hot?

2/ Do your Sensei/Guru/Sifu's eyes ever turn red?

3/ Have you ever felt the urge to prod others in the buttocks with a pitchfork?

4/ Do the church doors slam shut without explanation when you get near them?

Check it out

Hmmm...

Errr....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

oooppss!

Best take me away then Satan....I am your child :D

In all seriousness, I am a Christian. Not strict 'Churchie' admittedly, but God says he forgives those who forgive themselves. He says that everything on the Earth has been placed here to challenge us, to find the true 'Way' to God is to be at one with all the elements, to fight evil and sin everyday and become a better person for it. This can be interepreted so many ways, just like this persons opinion. As a Moderator, I have to say that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, as a mortal human being - I ask that these opinions be backed up. Does this particular person who made this website believe the Martial Artists on the planes that went into the WTC evil because they put up a fight? Ahh...of course only the meek are lowly...that must mean God wanted the terrorists to kill even more people right? It's all down to personal interpretation. I'll leave them alone, if they leave me alone I think is the best way for me...

Where an earth do you find these things Andy?

[Everything to do with ‘Martial Arts’ will lead further and further into demonic bondage and deception

Is that like with whips and leather restraints and PVC catsuits with strategically placed holes? Could be fun. Lead me to your "Martial Arts" instructor....

(Sorry it's been one of those days).

Personally I don't see why people are obsessed with getting into heaven in the first place???

You spend life not doing the things that you would like to, bound by a set extremely prudish rules all in the pursuit of spending eternity in heave,.... not doing the things that you want to do.

Why would "god" put these rules in place only to have them abandoned in the afterlife. And if so then why do all the "godly" religions preach this as the will of "god" if it wants you do disregard his teachings after you die?

oh well, its a good thing that my beleifs are that warped that I don't care anymore.

Before we MAs start feeling too victimised I should point out that most of the "christians" who feel like this also think that dancing and bubblegum are the work of the devil too....

The fundementalist Chritian response to martial arts is intersting.: I quote one aspect from the above link ". First, the student is instructed to follow his master or guru in an unquestioning absolute obedience. He is to suspend all judgments of conscience or intellect and to perform specific techniques. When he discovers that certain seemingly beneficial results immediately follow, he will be encouraged to try something further. All the time he is warned by his instructor and others of the danger of turning back. "

This is an 'idealsied' and unrealistic description of student / teacher relationships [iin the west anyway].

I was once at a Taoekwondo lesson and a 'real' Korean student turned up to practice. I spoke to him and mentioned mediation and he went very animated telling me that Satan can get into your mind when you meditate. He therefore drew a distinction between practice of defence and mediation for him. I doubt very much that either are bad for you in a considered Christian theorogical analysis.
Prayer is a form of meditation anyway?

Hey! I'm with the Native American Church. I don't have horns or hooves but I do nibble a little. ha ha
I guess people will believe whatever they want to, to fit in with their peer group. For some reason I think all people have inner strength and conscience. It's just how you percieve it to be right.
And in this case, I think someone had a bad experience with MA and has to put the blame somewhere.
Oh yeah, isn't it written in the ten commandments when Moses had the inner strength to believe he could make it up that mountain that thou shall not judge others? And he who is withour sin..........

Unfortunately there are some groups of all types out there who have bad things to say about MA. Church groups included. We were one asked to leave a hall that we were training in for about 18 months after the Church group that were running it gained a new minister who thought that what we were doing was evil. A bit annoying that we weren't told before we all turned up for an annual group training session.

These types of 'sects' tend to wear off after a while.

4. No, well not after the first time because we had to use our Satan enhanced MA abilities to rip the door off its hinges to get in ;)

If this is all true, God`s going to have a bit of bother come the apocalypse. Anyone who can fight will be beating all the Christian pacifists round the head without too much trouble because Satan has influenced them of course

I just uploaded a great picture of me which proves beyond all doubt Satan holds no sway over me.

I AM a "born again Christian" and I just read the articles and I found them downright ridicules! I think there is a danger in meditation but NOT the kind that most people do before class where you just take a few deep breaths to relax yourself or think about what you will be doing. Yes, every art has it's people who go into the spiritual side of it and I think that's the occult but to say that everyone who practices martial arts is evil or sinning is wrong! I don't think these people are informed at all about martial arts or they had a bad experience as a child or something.

Sorry, it struck a nerve. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Okay, I didn't read every thing, cause I'm in a hurry now, but I hope you guys aren't suggesting that martial arts are of satain. Not true, I know several christians who pratice martial arts. Yes also I heard that satain can get into your mind in meditation, but what are you meditating on. When I meditate, I meditate on christ, even when I do martial arts, I meditate on Christ, so it doesn't have to be if you have a focused mind. Well, I 'll post more here later. Gotta run, cause they're closing the Library now. Sorry if I got the wrong Idea or anything, but I'm rushing. I'm not finnished here though.

The reason that I pointed you in the direction of this thread WOTD is that a number of Christian groups that believe that MAists are the minions of Satan - not us here on the forum.....(actually one or two of them might be....hmmm, something to think about)

LilBunnyRabbit

You meditate on something? I thought the point was that for meditation you cleared your mind, which is why idiots and managers find it so easy to meditate.

"Aren't you afraid you might stop to think, and never start again?"

Maybe you just failed the ancient ninja test for one of the dan grades and grandmastership.

You sit and meditate and your instructor tries to chop you in half with a katana with a downward slash from behind?? I think you are meant to avoid the blow and block it or something

I thought Zen meditation was attempting to empty one`s mind of conscious thought so you could achieve a higher concsiousness?

Which is of course the act of Satan`s followers.

They assume that since chi doesn't come from God that it has to come from satan...apparently they didn't put thought into that...

Mabey it does come from God. And if it doesn't why must it be a demon? Why not a good source? I have had alot of experiences with ki, and defenitly have yet to be posessed...

Well now you'ver gone and done it Andy!

I can't forgive myself for some of things I have done, so down I go.
I have pushed the limits way to many times and I know that the one moment of all my training has not come yet. I still live because I am a warrior and the winds have not yet decided how i should go, but because I am a martial artist in the true sense I will go will go with honor and dignity.

OH my God! You know we are Christians and we hate it when some closed minded CRACKHEAD makes all of us look bad. There are way too many LIES, mis translations, mis interpetaions, and not to mention mans politics that have been pushed as Gods Word through Christainity. We feel the need to give you all a very positive view of christianity by providing you with this link to a wonderful site that is dedicated to helping christians overcome traditions with no biblical basis. and many of them are sexually based. So if any of you out there are Christians with a high sex drive this site is a must for you. It has really helped my wife and I to come to grips with many things in our life that all of our life we have been told was wrong and sinful when in fact it was not!

Martial Arts are being practised for the best in our life..! but if we have trust and love to Jesus Christ our lord , and Christianity , and faith & you will success to your goals! Don't let the environment where you live or the culture make you change mind about your religion. None was ever survived thru chaos but only thru love! A good martial artists know how to love and respect too..

OH by the way, Pegans dont belive in God, OR that Jesus was the son of God, or the Devil. They worship the earth.

I attend a catholic university and one of the requirements is a religion class so I took Diversified World Religions.

I've heard worse claims than Martial Arts are of the devil. I once found a post that claimed Disney's Darkwing Duck was evil!
I am a Christian and as I stated in the Questions and Answers forum I took American Tae Kwon Do until I became ill. There was a woman in the church I was attending at the time that was convinced that I was stricken sick for taking Tae Kwon Do! Funny thing, I started in a new church where I read an announcement that one of the kids in the church had taken 2nd. place in a worlds competition for Tae Kwon Do! He looked healthy to me.Why wasn't he sick too?
The school I attended infact was one that taught you to respect other people yourself and GOD! We even had prayer in class before testing are times.
I think that a lot of people use religion as an excuse. If they don't like something or can't do it they claim it is evil.
If a Sensei were teaching Martial Arts as a way of intentionally hurting a person or killing them, THAT could be deemed evil, yes -OK in all honesty, I have been told of such stuff. A young man in or ATA class told that he had quit a martial arts class because the started teaching you how to kill a person after only being in class a couple of months.
But myself, I enjoyed my classes and when i do get well, I hope to start back into Tae Kwon Do and get my black belt.

:D Its a very funny site to read. Although slightly worrying to think its been done seriously and a lot of religious people agree with it. Fundamentalist religious people however! In reality, it makes as much religious sense as trying to use religion to justify crashing planes into the twin towers

It can be seen at a glance that ‘Martial Arts’ is nothing short of a filthy Satanic deception, totally anti-Christ and one which is under the curse and judgement of Almighty God!

Hardline religious fundamentalists could take any number of quotes translated for thousands of years old texts, but taken out of context they mean nothing.

and;

KARATE – Meaning ‘Open Hand’, the ‘CHOP’ can kill, a victim instantly!

You know its a load of trash! :p
