guru? how the hell are you a JCVD guru??? hmm...interesting...

anyway, i recommend that, if you're serious about MA, you let mr. van damme slip out of your mind. if you have no choices, take any ma you can, as long as they have a decent instructor. bieng a biased mma guy, however :D, i suggest you cross-train in a grappling art and a standup art. my two picks are bjj and mt.

I almost became a guru of his until I found out he does'nt have much apart from really limber hips and right leg kicking [I never seen the bugger ever kick with his left!!!]

Hey JCVD looks good and when he does the kime of death with his kick. You can realy see how the apponend is stunned and almost killed by that. Besides that ballet is good way to train your body. Ballet requires grace and total control over your movements.

Cain who kick's with the left leg? Erhmm almost all but does the kick look as good on camera. I must say the left leg is much better as supporting leg for me.

Lights,,,, roll camera,, action .... wich has nothing todo with MA.

Even charlies angels talk about it beeing movie karate/MA so it doesn't work in real life. And the angels are like gods to me. Or was that in my dream. erhm.. gotto quit now.. before...
erhm...

Apparently not!! He's a man of many talents it seems.

I heard a rumour he can act as well, but thats just getting silly if you ask me...

As Pablo Fransisco put it in his trailer joke:

"Jean Claud Van Damme in the same bull**** you seen over and over again!"

ha ha ha, you have you show your arse regularly.

it was in his contract that to please his gay fans (which are fairly large I think) he should have a rear shot in every film, that's why there's so much van damme arse.

Haha though I don't think of him as much of an actor, I have to like the guy because he is very liked by all his co-workers. Martial arts-wise I think he may be more talented than we think I mean body building you think he would be a bit more bulkier, and a bit less flexible. He seems to be fairly balanced himself, and I think if plays a martial artist most times on movies he must have at least a decent interest in it, he's rich enough not to HAVE to do those types of movies, but who knows... I just might be on crack ; )

From what I hear, JCVD mentioned a lot of styles he had practised, and a lot of championships he had won.
Sad thing is though ... there is no record of all of this.

Maybe there never was.

He did for sure practice ballet though :)

umm, its like i posted the original message... this guy has the same profile, age, and location as i do, and i am also super flexible 16 year old dude who can do splits on both sides and side kick a little bit above my head... WOW, how odd... ok, man, i would find any chinese guy you can who knows martial arts and then, (dont be embarrassed!!) and then beg him to teach you martial arts... thats what i did...
