Here is a list of Sin Moo Hapkido schools (where I train), though unfortunately I don't see any in KY:

Here are some USKMAF schools (which include some in KY):

You can probably get some recommendations from The Dojang list as well (2200 members gets you a long way as far as asking for a recommendation for a school... it's how I found mine, anyway) --

thank you for the reply. heard there was a combat hapkido school (or several) in the southern part of state. yet have never found out exactly where this/these schools were supposed to be. far as other hapkido schools never knew any existed in ky. until reading the links you provided.

I cannot recommend any Hapkido places in eastern KY . There are a couple but ... ... lets just leave it at that ok ?
Well actually now that I think about it there is one instructor who's name I can't come up on the top of my head ... Ray something or other ( maybe Watkins ) . He is bad ass and focuses heavily on conditioning , break falling , and free sparring . He and my old Dojang parted ways , and he moved over into your neck of the woods .
I will ask my old Instructor and see if I can get some up to date contact info for you .

The ones I know of are basicly just TKD with wrist locks and crappy grappling .

That would be a good reason, I can understand your point more clearly now.
