:p My sensei told me to get in to a martial arts contest, i can not kick in the back, hit someone in the face or break someone's arm ( obvious ) japonese jujutsu is for street defense so he told me getting in an open contest would help my mind to get in control of what to do ( to meassure my self ). Now i've been in several street fights ( before getting into MA ) and this is my first MA contest so i'm kind of nervous because i don't know what is going to happen. Any tips please? :p

What about you ? virtuous? Yoda? you guys?
:) Thanks

Realistic competition is a great way to test yourself under pressure - bit puzzled by the no hits in the face though.

This sounds somewhat like an open, poit-style tourny like Naska or iska point circuit. They both allow facial contact in BB divisions though...curious. Spawnpain, who is putting this contest on? Is there any prizemoney involved? also, where is it?

:p It is here in Costa Rica no money but a trofy is the price we are talking about here, you can't hit in the face but you can kick in the face, no more than five seconds in the floor for a technique to be done and that's it. why do you want to me in this adventure ? :woo:

I'll have to fight against ju jutsu, taekwondo, karate and kung fu, it will be for sure a really rich experience don't you yhink? :D

Otherwise I would have gone in for it. I am 10 years out of comps but did one recently in SOMBO and took the Silver in the over 90kgs weight. I am 92 kgs so was the little guy in the big boys division.

Got a thirst for it though and would like to do more open comps as I am building up to my first MMA fight next year I hope.

Let me know how it goes and nerves are the worst thing as I lost my first fight through stupidity as it was a cheap ankle lock but won the rest.

How gutted was eye as I had so many options to finish him off but the rules of SOMBO did not help as he was so much bigger than me that he kept himself so far away using his 6'5 reach.

Still best of luck mate and the first fight is the worst - just dive in and you will be fine.
