I was looking at the techniques that maxi used in the demo and was wondering if what he was doing can acyually be done. Both with 1 nunchaku and 2. He seem to be moving while doing his kata, I thought that you caould only be stationary when used chucks. Then again you are not surposed to move you head and let the chucks move around you. When he is moving his head is always facing one way so I surpose it can be done, any nunchaku uses here that can help?

Have not played soul caliber but do you have martial arts demo like in soul caliber on the dreamcast?

Peace

What use would any weapon be if you had to stand still to use it? Or if you had to face the same way constantly for that matter?

I believe all the demos in exhibition theater are motion captures of real MA weopon masters. Maybe you can find out more info on the official Soul Calibre sight.

The original Soul Calibre on Dreamcast has exhibition theater also but you have to unlock it.

The thing is that most of these computer game characters are motion captured by the 'showy' martial artists. Thats why you see all these fancy, silly moves that are really no good for combat.

I'm still waiting for Konami to ring me up and ask me to perform with my Eiku (boat oar) for a new fighting game :D Oh but wait, my weapons work isn't flashy, nor do I do cartwheels. Damn.

(I'm sure Gojuman will concur)

I think the whole purpose of the demos is to show off the beauty and motion of the sprites and of Soul Calibre period. When the original came out, it was the most gorgeous video game I had ever seen.

Although I would never do a cartwheell in a fight I would never dought a masters combat skills. Just becaude an MA may seem pretty or graceful doesn't meen it's any less deadly.

All the more deceiving.

But, seriously, can a guy with a Gauntlet (Heihachi) really content with a crazy demon with a really big sword (Nightmare)? The thing is, these games aren't real, but still, if you want to learn the moves, I am sure they can be done. (Save Heihachi's lightning fist thing.. -_-') The "Showy" moves will earn you points with MA judges and/or video game companies, but when it comes down to a real fight, no way. Unless, of course, you're timing is PERFECT.

:woo:

....sakurabapwned...maybe...just maybe...

and there aren't any sprites in soul calibur 2, the characters and environments are 3d with 2d textures.

formergamer/programmerpwned...definitely.
