Some Kempo chap - apparently.
I get the feeling Osseacat doesn't think too highly of him.

Yes - people can post their thoughts - as long as they post in line with the rules they agreed to when they signed up for this forum - do DID read them I assume? :p
Also - there is a "sticky topic" at the top of each forum area which states...
Topic Rules.
There are only a few rules to follow in addition to the ones agreed when you signed up.
No Personal Attacks we have no problem with people expressing an opinion on an article or persons views however verbal insults are not appropriate and will be removed.
No advertising if you want to advertise your club contact us.
You didn't see the "personal attack" in question - believe me - it has no place here.
Welcome to MAP by the way :D

Indeed,
wouldn't it be a shame if we all lost the forum due to Steve Spry taking us down with legal proceedings?
Anyone wanting information on the guy can do a "Google" search and make up their mind from there (as much as you can from the web).
Joining a forum just to bash a person, art, or whatever is kind of low minded and futile!

KaikiGurl, thanks for your support on this. I thought the same way you do about this site. But I think some people here don't read the first amendment...freedom of speach....

Made obvious by the pages and pages of empty posts, all saying nothing at all eh?
If you have issues with Steve Spry, why not email him the sites URL and you can have a discussion with him here.
Otherwise, you are just dissing someone behind their back!
Let me know if you need help finding the guy, I'd be more than happy!

Andy, I think many young people don't realize with age comes wisdom as well as experience.
We were taught in the old school to respect other ma'ist.
Makes you wonder what disciplines are being taught today.

i can only talk from what i now,i have read articles by spry ,apart from wearing tracksuit tops under his gi,he seem cool, but most of all he is a kenpo man in the public eye ,thats better than me ,he teaches the mititary ,i dont ,i would be in no position to dis this man, this is a kenpo site ,for kenpo people (or poeple inerested in kenpo),we should back our art and artists ,
but if you have a problem with him ,as said before ,this is not the place for the type of expresion you have used ,speak to the man himself ,find a demo put on by himself a say what you have said ,
cheers

This website is based in the UK. The First Amendment is part of the American constitution, and thus, means nothing under UK law.
I always find it amusing when someone gets moderated, then whinges about freedom of speech. If you don't agree with the moderation policies, then no-one is forcing you to visit, or post to this website. We're not about to get sued for libel because you want somewhere to grind your shiny new axe.
Total freedom of speech is idealistic. If we had complete freedom of speech, anyone could say whatever they liked. That includes racists, homophobes, terrorists, and of course, people who anonymously slag other people off on Martial Arts forums behind their back.
Lets hope you can just enjoy the rest of this forum rather than complaining about it.

I don't hold THE highest of opinions, but I've not met him.
IF what I've been told of him is true, I'd not waste my time.
BUT: Why are you looking for mudd slinging on him? Have something personal against him Osseacat???

Osseacat, did your post actually contribute anything? Or was it just slagging off the martial artist.
And, with respect to free speech - this forum is technically private property (Chattel? I think), and it's owners are well within their right to moderate\delete posts.
Geez, I've been hanging around with law-student friends too much :P

I have had the pleasure to meet Steve Spry at the Gathering of Eagles seminar in Las Vegas and he was a really nice guy. One night my friend and I spent all night talking to him and gambling with him and when he was leaving he ended up giving both of us $100 chip.

i still don't get all this disrespect for other artist ,we all climb the same tree ,just in different way's,if someone has caused you personal afront then take it up with them personaly ,if you don't have the ball's then shut up.
kenpo has never been big (parkers ) because of splintering ,splinering because of certain indeviduals that have ego's bigger than houses ,but if we want kenpo to be at the for front (an as one of the greatest trapping arts around ,should be)the we must put it all behind up and move on ,other wise we will not live upto parkers words and evolve and progress, and in ten years time you will still here people saying "kenpo whats that"im working on it in the uk,i visit clubs with peopl i don't like ,but it's alla part of becomeing a brotherhood (no im not sad or mad),

LMAO @ fightsport making this thread!
Spry has a school about 20 minutes from me. I checked his school out many years ago. The guy seemed very nice and took time out to talk to me. Granted, I'm a bit leary when instructors do testing through videotape series, but that's on Steve if he's hoping to have legitimate students develop from videotapes. I guess if you're in a secluded area with no martial arts schools around for miles, videotapes are your best friend.

I'm sure they won't Steve, there was never any interest in you to begin with. By the way, spelling errors, like the ones in your posts, are not due to Dyslexia. Dyslexics will put the letters in a different order, not plainly misspell them. Their grammar and punctuation are usually correct as well. BTW, It's professionalism
