How Do you become a moderator and how long does it take

First you have to come with a whole bunch of money to BRIBE certain people :D. Then get lots of chapstick on for more bu**kissing! At least thats what I was told by Booksie_Girl...
Actually I think you hav to be asked by the guys who run the board. They are a pretty good bunch of people, they like to tease and be teased, so hang in there and if you have enough good stuff to contribute, they'll ask you to moderate a forum.

Mods are added as and when we feel the site needs more.

Some qualities we look for include...

- Time served on MAP
- General level of helpfulness towards members
- Ability to commumicate in a mature & intelligent way (if needed :p)
- A sense of humour
- An understanding of the confidentiality that goes with the role moderator
- The ability to use "moderation" first and put personal views & predudices aside while wearing the "Mod hat"
- It has more to do with people skills than martial skills

It's a thankless task at times - be careful what you wish for etc etc..

Actually the mods here do a really good job I think. They let controversial posts stay, don't delete that much that I know of, and can take a joke!
