I know this is old news but I watched the finale to the first series of The Ultimate Fighter last night and the Griffin/Bonnar fight was an absolute corker!
A good old fashioned toe to toe slug-fest.
Griffin pushing forward and Bonnar counter punshing well. Some heavy hits going in with no backing down from eiethr party.
Well worth a watch for all fight fans.

yeh i love that fight. It's such a shame that Bonnar has fallen from grace, would have been nice to see him go on to a similar success that Forest Griffin has achieved.

tested positive for drugs for a fight a few months back. People reckon that'll be the last we see of him in UFC

Cheers man.
Damn that's pretty sad. Seems even a pretty sorted bloke can fall for the lure of some artificial help.
Goes completely against the grain of martial arts that. :o

::Note: I am NOT defending the usage of banned substance::
in all probability he wasn't looking for an edge in the fight. It's pretty well known that his training regimen involved going back and forth between chicago and boston, and apparantly all that took it's toll on his body. One of the major reasons for using steriods (i'm pretty sure that was the substance) is for speeding up the healing process. This is actually, the more prevalent reason for steroids in baseball. 162 game season = 4 to 5 games a week. This DESTROYS the body. So, the ballplayers generally use them to help heal so they won't miss games. Of course, there are plenty that do it for muscle gain too.

Yeah I can see that.
Just read his press release and sounds like he took a substance that meant he tested positive but it wasn't actually the banned substance. Or something. :o

Bonner hasn't faired very well in his fights since Griffin either. He fights hard but has a hard time winning. I don't think he will go very far. I love to watch him fight but you have to win or your out.
