View Full Version : How many of you think Lutter is history

I've read that Dana was livid over Lutter not making weight. It was pretty stupid to lose what was probably his only title shot because of just plain old laziness. I'll bet we won't ever see him in the UFC again.

He will probably be in the WEC by tomorrow...

Going to take him a long time to earn another title shot after that catastrophe...

I can't quite remember off the top of my head, but I think part of the winner's pool with TUF4 was a contract as well as a title shot. The UFC won't be giving people with only one fight contracts title shot again after the BJ Penn situation, hence why Vera's not getting the next HW title match
Whether him not making weight can be construed as breach of contract is something for Zuffa's lawyers, but assuming the contract stands, he'll probably either be made to wait it out until it expires, which'll mean no fights, or the UFC will throw him in undercard bouts on UFNs until they can get rid of him. After that, he'll probably have to go to the IFL or KOTC or something. He almost certainly won't be back in the UFC or WEC (which Zuffa owns) until White forgets about this and the guy's got a long memory

Yea he also has a contract of some sort, something like 4 or 5 fights for 100k overall...

He is going to have a hard time working his way to the top, he will almost certainly be put at the bottom of the ladder in the UFC...

Look at what Dana did with Lindland...and Lutter is nowhere near Lindlands skill level.

Wonder if the UFC had a 'get out clause' in the contract in case of something as pathetic as this...?

Another disappointment. I was reading one review of the fight, and the guy wrote that Lutter "looks like he wants to jump off of a roof". I had hopes for the guy 'cause he looked decently well-rounded, and I thought he stood a better chance against Silva than Serra stands against GSP. You hate to see a fighter piss away such a great opportunity. I honestly think he's done with the UFC, if not permanently, then certainly for a long time. If he's still got fights on his contract, I bet they put him in unaired undercards.
