Just watched that fight, great thai clinch and i liked that Rich's looked exactly like mine did just three weeks ago. I haven't watched nearly enough MMA in 2006 to vote though, so i'll just pass.

Edit: Crocop beat everyone to get to the top of Pride FC, didn't he? Including knocking out Wanderlei Silva. So i guess this was his year, Mirco "CroCop" Philipovic best fighter for 2006 :).

Im giving this one to GSP, sounds biased I know. However this year he has defeated BJ Penn AND Matt Hughes. He has established himself as No.1 in a totally stacked division. Cro-Cop only really beat one person in his weight class this year and Chuck beat a bunch of wrestlers, thats why I personally feel it should go to GSP.

Yeh but Monson fight was worse...I mean Arlovski was injured in that fight so at least there is some reason, however there is nothing to even atempt to save the Monson fight. It just annoys me sooo much as Sylvia just wouldn't go for the knockout when he had Monson gassed out and doing nout on the floor...with Arlovski there was always still a threat on the feet or floor.
