try saying as little as possible for a whole day, obviously there are times you have to talk(at work for example) but say as little as you possibly can. I swear to you you will learn some amazing things. Don't take my word for it, go do it

I do it everyday. It's nothing new for me, been doing it for years.

Yep, done that for up to eight days. It works. You can learn a lot by listening, when your own gums aren't constantly flapping.

This is something I do when I meet new people, its a great way to suss them out, say as little as possible :D I try not to talk more than is needed anyway, but sometimes I can be a chatterbox.

Think they would get kinda annoyed at me! I work in a Contact Centre (Call Centre) for 12 hours a week! :D

That would be difficult! I couldn't go totally silent at work, either, but I've done it on vacation time.

What do you call meditation?

I think your thinking of something else there Guitarboy. Killbill isn't taking about mediating, he's talking about just staying silent for the day.

Simular to myself.

Same as above for me, the next stage is shutting up the chattering that goes on in your head when outwardly silent. Like K Girl says, listening and internal quietness help you 'suss' out situations and yourself a lot quicker than the 'loud' people.

...and yep, it's meditation, but meditation on the move with all senses engaged. It's taken me over 10 years to get to a place where I notice the voice starting, then shutting it up. Ten years is a while isn't it?....
Am I crap, or just 'special'? :D

timmeh!, don't feel bad about the ten years -- many people never reach this stage at all. :)

You can learn a lot from lengthy periods of silence whether or not any of it is spent in meditation.
