According to the official website of the UFC, The Ultimate Fighter 3 Light Heavyweight winner Michael Bisping will not be making his non-TUF debut for the company at this coming weekend's Ultimate Fighter 4 live finale show as originally scheduled.
Bisping, who was set to fight Eric Schafer in the main event, is off the listing of the matches on the UFC.com website. Early rumors indicate the issue causing his removal from this card is getting a visa to come into the country from England.

The Visa issue is B/S.
It is not that difficult to get a visa from England to the U.S, not to mention the UFC has enough money they could speed the process.
He probably got hurt again or something.

I seriously doubt it would be very hard for an English fighter to get a Visa.

I agree, especially considering he has already been to the U.S recently and works for a multi-million dollar corporation..add his "semi-celebrity" status and getting a Visa should be a cinch.

Is Bisping really that famous in the UK?

Doubt he is "that" famous, which is why I said he was a "semi-celebrity"...by which I meant there is bound to be a few UFC fans in the immigration office.

He got a contract already, and he has signed it. Signing a contract that involves him working in America would obviously involve a working visa of some sort.

He was a great fighter, really showed what the British can do at MMA.
I hope he gets a good many fights under his belt. Hell, it would be good to see a Brit with a belt.

The Visa issue isnt BS. What are you saying that he pulled out becasue he doesnt want to fight?? seems rather unlikey. Seems more likely that US imigration department have to cross a whole load of T's and dot a whole load of I's, and its now come to light that it isnt going to happen soon enough, its probably the UFC's fault for not getting their act together and sorting it out on time. He cant go in on a tourist visa, it needs to be a working visa and having a few UFC fans in the deaprtment is hardly going to speed up the processes. American imigration dont gove a crap about anything like that post 9/11 and recent terrorist alerts. Its the same for Foriegn Footballers coming to the UK, there are always Visa issues and delay's and complications.
Oh yeah and vote for Mikey B for BBC sports personality of the year as the other post said. It will get some good profile for MMA if he were to make it into the top 10, my votes in!

Bisping is about as well known in the UK, as your Man Utd badge is in the USA, in that most people who follow combat sports will have heard of him, the same way that most people who play "soccer" in the USA will have heard of Manchester United. Outside of that people wouldnt have a clue who he was, same as 200 million americans have probably never heard of Man Utd.

Probably a bad example as Man Utd owner is American, so more may have heard of them :p
Anyways yeh it sounds to me like the UFC were slowing in applying coz its not like he has any trouble before....
Also feel free to use more than one E-Mail adress to vote for Bisping, even if you are not from the UK, you are helping raise the profile of MMA in the UK, so your still ghelping MMA out ;)

No, I think it is B/S. I don't think he is afraid of fighting or anything but I do think it could be an injury, personal problems, etc...
He has already have a working visa for the U.S this year, so it seems strange that it would be that difficult to get another.

For <deleted> sake! I wanted to see him fight too, see how he fairs in the big league after dominating on the show...
I'd never heard of Bisping until i watched TUF 3 but i haven't been into the MMA scene long at all, a couple of months at most. And even then i follows UFC as opposed to Cage Warriors or Cage Rage etc

I think the reason he isnt going to fight is not known. The fact that he got a contract how many months ago, would allow him a working visa pretty quickly. Its not as if he is going to work in Mc donalds or something.
