Of course the best is John Wayne, he is rough, tough, and takes the sh** off of nobody.

Bruce Campbell is the man.

Michael Dudikoff is one of my favorites.
Sasha Mitchell is another one.

But now to the serious business, the actresses:

JENNIFER GARNER and LUCY LIU

JESSICA ALBA AND ZHANG ZI YI

Tim Roth.

Richard E Grant (Purely because of "Withnail & I")

First place is easy: Brad Pitt. No one now alive can touch him.

Tom Hanks has to be mentioned. And I'd say Jimmy Stewart, Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman ("Unforgiven" is such a magnificent movie), ... but now my list is getting long, so I'll stop.

Keanu Reeves?????

Some said they should replace him in the matrix with a wodden board with a smile drawn on it's face.......then at least the wodden board will have an excuse to have the same damn expression everytime!!!!! :D

definitely Keanu Reeves. He's sooo good looking. I love those scenes of him close up. I love the way he's so enigmatic, he hardly shows any emotion. I also love that scene in the matrix where he and Trinity go to save Morpheus, Keanu Reeves is wearing a skintight black jumper and you can see all his sculptured muscle.......ooohhhhhh.

I would have to say the best actors/actresses are in MA terms Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal and Michelle Yeoh.

Best all round actors are Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Liam Neeson.

Best all round actresses are Halle Berry, Dame Judi Dench and Liv Tyler.

i really like Edward Norton

he's great! he has displayed much more versitility then nearly every other actor mentioned on this thread IMO. primal fear was one of his best.

chuck norris, bruce lee, steven seagal, van damme matt damon, jackie chan and mark dacascos

this thread is about acting, not MA ability. Either way, VAN DAMME? ? :D

seriously though, they're all pretty good except for van damme and seagal, they play the same part in every film.

I'm impressed, guys. I was worried people would forget mark dacascos (Brotherhood of the Wolves! French MA movies! what more could you ask for?!) and/or Ed Norton. Norton's amazing look at the change from like... American History X to Death to Smootchy (WIERD movie). And i'm in love with Selma Hyack (sp) and Jennifer Aniston.

Al Pacino (Scarface), Robert De Niro (Raging Bull), Mel Gibson (Braveheart), Denzel Washington (Man On Fire), Clint Eastwood (anything!), Brad Pitt (7 Years in Tibet), Johnny Depp (Don Juan)... Jet Li I would say is probably one of the most under-rated actors in the world. He has alot of depth and it would be nice to see him in a role that captured that, martial arts genre or not. Bruce Lee? Ok, I give major props to the man, and consider him one of my idol's, but the man played himself in all his movies and makes Jean Claude look like an oscar nominee.

Top 3
Denzel Washington, Samuel Jackson and Sean Connery.

And believe or not Sean Connery made the first movie that I saw that got me interested in the martial arts. Way back in the 80's I was a little kid and my father took me to see The Presidio. I don't know if any of you have seen it but let me tell about this scene that is off the hook.

Sean is sitting at bar and because of his army uniform this big huge guy wants to pick a fight with him, so he taps Sean on the back and says something like, "come on fight me general, fight me." Sean turns around and says something cool like, "are you sure you want to fight me?" "Because if I do fight you I'm only going to use my thumb, my right thumb because my left thumb is much too tough for you." He then precedes to pummel this guy by striking him in pressure points and vulnerable areas with his thumb. I was amazed by simplicity and effectiveness of the movement. Even now I haven't changed I'll take something short and sweet over some long choreographed move any day.

Winston Smith
29-Jun-2005, 11:41 AM
Christian Bale. I've only seen him in two films but he's a fine actor. I really want to see the Machinist & Equilibrium.

Although Harrison Ford was awesomely charismatic in those 1970's/80's roles like Indiana Jones. He got dull when he starting doing the serious political stuff.

My number one's Christian Bale (American Psyco). Closely followed by Gary Oldman (Leon). Other faves include Anthony Hopkins, Sean Bean, Chow Yun Fat and Lawrence Fishburne.

Good bunch of choices there. I rate Gary Oldman, and I like Sean Bean's earthiness. Although Lawrence Fishburne's off the list after those last two Matrix films.
