The story goes that during a grading Justo became angry with Hapkido as it seemed contrived and unrealistic. He then challenged the entire World Hapkido council to fight him and find out about real life.
He went on to found the KFM.
Personally i thought a world council would have beat him up badly. KFM fighters actually voted overwhelmingly that he would have beaten them all so soundly they would have disbanded the art Hapkido.
Discuss... :bang:

So he was a Hapkido student at one time?
What is the World Hapkido Council (never heard of it)?
He went on to found the KFM.
You mean this: http://www.keysikfm.com/en/team.php

Now that's a way to settle a fight... vote on it to see what the result would be. Seems like a good way to avoid pain and bloodshed. :D
I attached a picture of the KFM founder and his partner - who knows... maybe this story is true.

If they had beaten Justo badly would there be a KFM?
Now that is a question worth asking. I think it wouldn't exist as clearly it would have meant that whatever Justo knew, it wasn't enough to win against Hapkido and as such he wouldn't be able to teach it as such a flawless system.

All I really know about KFM is that it was in a Batman movie. If it came down to a battle of "movie-fu", I'd give GM Bong-soo Han's Hapkido in Billy Jack or GM Hwang In-Shik's Hapkido in Young Master the edge over that Batman movie anyday. My vote: Hapkido by KO!!!!! :D

Justo and Norman are instructors under Inosanto.
Their Self Defense is said to not be an art or system, but it is JKD based material with a large extent based on the Filipino Martial art side.
Many familiar with FMAs say it is FMA without the weapons.
Since it is a euro system at this time I have not seen it up close nor trained in it and few seem to train it as it is taught through mostly seminars and camps.
It is an off shoot of JKD as is Straight Blast,as Is Vunaks as is Burton Richardsons,as is Wagners RBSD.
Good luck to them but as it has been around a few years if was any good it would be beyond a few sites in the UK,Italy,Germany.
.................................................. ........................
If we speak of Batman,Keysi was introduced in Batman the begining, but the Batman of the 60s fought the Green Hornet to a Draw,so perhaps Adam West Knew Bruce Lee was the creator of his system of fighting,(30 years before Keysi was developed)lol
I Agree with Thomas,Billy Jack (and his Green Beret tricks) would have wiped the floor with the new and old Batman, lol.
Take away Batmans kevlar suit and all his toys and you have Bruce Wayne and Bruce Wayne aint no Bruce Lee,lol
Ji Han Jae gave old Bruce a run for his money in Game of Death.
So lets not say Hapkido would just give up to Justo, lol.
There is no information that Justo ever trained in Hapkido, nor tried to rank and call out his seniors,he did supposedly travel around alot studying before he met Norman.
I guess he,Justo, made a ton working in the coal mines of Europe to just up and travel and train in various martial arts for a few years until he met Norman, lol.

I watched "Batman Begins" last weekend because of this thread.
As a martial arts movie-- it sucked-- meaning it was made or associated with the USA.
*ALL* of the shots were single MA skill per movie cut (as is the norm in a movie produced in the USA). So-- theoretecally, you could film an average day on a city street and edit it to look like MA with those criteria. Don't forget to add the "kpow" noises.
Furthermore, I saw NOTHING in the skill set that I have not been taught in hapkido (KHF an IHF).

Whoa... no offense intended whatsoever. I was not speaking about the country, the USA, I was talking about martial arts movies that are primarily associated with Hollywood.
Hollywood martial arts movies tend to have very tight shots, with very fast cuts-- so you get to see very little of the martial arts being performed.
Seriously no-anti US (the country) feeling intended whatsoever.

Next time then refer to it as Hollywood cinema. That will help things now sound so anti US :-)
