I'm a novice kickboxer and I'd just like some imput or ideas about the best methods for stretching to get maximum gain. Are standing stretches better or seated ones? Should I hold a stretch for 5 minutes or do a few 1-2 minute sets? Any supplements out there that can help with joint flexibility that are natural and reasonably priced? just some ideas I appreciate the help :)

Standing or sitting makes no differents. You can do the same stretch either standing or sitting. Just use common sense when you stretch, and make sure you stretch whenever possible. Warm up a bit, losen your joint before any real stretching. Try to stretch out to your maximum twice a week at least, stretch to where it really hurts. Best way to improve your flexability is get a stretching partner, or some kind of stretching machine.

stretching is very important. but u definitely have to warm up first and stretch afterwards. don't start ur training without it.

u can buy a book or find some sites on stretching on the internet.

and of course check out what Kickchick has so far written about stretching. u'll definitely find ur answers.

Thanks for your replies guys, I'll definitely search around for what KickChick has already said. Yeah stretching machines are nice but man they're expensive. :)
