Sick to death of something and noone listening?
Fed up trying to get the same point across over and over?
Had a bad day at the office?
Or just suffering from a chemical imbalance of the brain?
Never fear, you can let it all out here. Scream shout, let it go...you'll feel better I promise.

About a year ago I applied for a job and mentioned in my personal section that one of my "Activities" was Martial Arts training. I have all the appropriate skills and training for the position and was looking forward to being invited to an interview, however, I was turned down. I was so surprised I called the company in question and asked why I wasn't considered. They told me that because I did Martial Arts they felt I was too violent!
Huh? What? Talk about misconceptions! They hadn't even met me!

There are 4 standard responses to me telling people I'm a psychiatrist:
1. Ha Ha, you should speak to my wife/husband/ whatever.
2. Are you psychoanalizing me?
3. Look nervous, mutter something and shuffle away.
4. The one done by the people that are trying not to do the standard response and look intelligent - 'so what is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?'

Yeah like I know they're all underpaid n overworked, but why do they treat people like lumps of meat.
Overpaid Consultants who can't be bothered to read their ficking notes, that poke and prod you, while avoiding eye contact and talking about you in the third person.
The Junior consultants are wonderful; up to date on modern techniques, understanding of the patients concerns and informative. What gives the senior surgeons the right to treat everybody like Cadavers? Squeeze that again and I'll rip yer face off you overpaid, overfed scruffily dressed ignoramus. I pay yer freakin Salary. It's overwhelming, overpowering and overkill when your scent arives before you do and lingers way after you are gone.

I cannot stand bad mannered people!! If I hold a door open for someone, or step aside to let them pass, then I expect them to at least have the courtesy to acknowledge it. All it takes is a little nod, or a word of thanks!!!!
MANNERS COST NOTHING!!!!
It doesn't take more than a second but it can make a big difference. I have now reached the point where if someone doesn't say thanks I say, in a very loud voice...
"That's quite all right. Please think nothing of it!"
Most of them have the decency to look embarassed about their behaviour and then say thank you, before scurrying away.
I think that I should have a free licence to kick the living sh*te out of all of them and say
GET SOME MANNERS YOU PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING!!! DID YOUR PARENTS NEVER TELL YOU THAT IT IS GOOD TO BE POLITE!!! I HOPE YOU SPEND ETERNITY SURFING THE FIREY LAKES OF HELL!!!!!!!

Putting on your hazard warning lights does not excuse you from parking badly. It does not mean you can spend longer on single yellows while you eat your lunchtime chips. Argh, its so annoying. Many people seem to think I’ve been a black belt in karate for years! Do they believe Martial Arts = Karate.
Oh and worse still, when people say are you going to warn them before using your karate on them. Eh what?? I’m going to use my fist on their chin. I don’t think they need a warning, that’ll get the message over!!!
What is it with the whole warning thing that people expect us to do? That was never taught in traditional Kung Fu or Karate. My teacher always said “Where is it wrote that people are allowed to put there hands on you”.
Last one, whenever I make a post on here I seem to get torn to shreds. Ok if you don’t agree with me, just say your comment. We’re never all going to agree on everything!

Coming into a bookshop and saying that you want some ridiculously obscure book means that I may not be able to find it. Unsuprisingly we do not have a list of every published book in existence. The British Library has a list of most of the published books in England. It comprises a list of several million. If I can't find your book it is not because I'm useless, or our system is useless, its because you didn't bother to check anything other than the title, didn't think to take the publisher so that I can try to contact them, or in fact make any of your own effort. I am not telepathic, nor do I hold a memorised list of every book in existence in my brain. Don't get angry with me because you can't be bothered to find your damn book yourself!
Ahh, only one week as a bookseller to go. Then I leave all of those moron customers who want 'that new book, it was in that magazine, you must have heard of it, published in the last two weeks' who won't go away until I show them a list of the several hundred books published in one week and start turning red and breathing heavily.
With regards to head office. The fact that you pay less than not only any other book shop, but even than MacDonalds, in my town is not a good sign. Woking is one of the most expensive areas in England outside of London, thus when you start paying people who work in Canterbury more than me because 'they work in a bigger shop' I will not be happy. Not only because they can live cheaper, and are getting 10% more than me, but also because they need to do a single job, man the tills, book in, deal with invoices, one job. I have to know how to run the whole shop and not only that, I also have to teach three new staff members how to because you never bothered to replace our senior bookseller and our manager is just lazy. I want a raise!
People who, when they spot my cross (not a crucifix, that's usually a Catholic symbol and has an image of Christ nailed to it) automatically assume I'm some kind of fundamentalist. My beliefs go as far as this. I believe Christ lived. I believe he was the son of a loving and forgiving God. I do not believe in anything that the Old Testament says, that is not the Christian book. The Christian book is the New Testament. The Old Testament is a Jewish book. I am not Jewish, and neither do I believe in the Old Testament.
This urgent need people have to abbreviate everything. It's not 9/11, it's Semptember the 11th, or the World Trade Centre attack. It's not the WTO, it's the World Trade Organisation. They have names to be identified and explain what they are, why cut them down to meaningless letters? It's almost as bad as the bloody acronyms.
The way everyone today swears. Until I was fourteen I had never sworn, and I still swear much less than anyone else I know, perhaps once a day at most. Why bother? Its just words, they don't help relieve stress, they don't do anything, they're just meaningless words. If you're angry, its much better to scream angrily and meaninglessly. It lets out a lot more.

I recently read an article about kickboxing. It showed a pic of a professional fighter being hit in the stomach with a shinae but it states that " kickboxing, a safer, more controlled and less violent version of the sport made famous by Bloodsport" Very first line! The pic was on an inside page. I hate it when they don't state the difference between the martial arts styles and the public thinks that every "kickboxer" is a professional fighter. Just because I'm a BlackBelt doesn't mean I can kick your butt. It just means I've worked very hard at my chosen form of life.

There's been posts from various stylists ranting about how people always think you learn kung fu/ karate/ TKD instead of what you actually do regardless of how often you tell them. The interesting thing is that no matter what your own style is, this is not the "token martial art" programmed into your friends'/colleagues' heads. How can this be? Surely they ought to get it right by the law of averages at some point?

Maybe they should? I do not know. But a wise man will keep his mouth shut and let others put their feet in theirs. :)
It's the media. It's the same as "if we do right no one remembers, if we do wrong no one forgets." Biker motto. For years they classified any one who rode a big motorcycle as a bad person and now... look at all the people on the bandwagon trying to be cool. Martial Arts is similar. Most people haven't taken the time or have the true interest to research how different the different styles are. They think karate, kung fu, judo, all popular names are the same. You can lead apig to water but you can not make him drink. Ha! ha!

I personally have a wide variety that i like, modern stuff and oldies too, but my main thing is The Beatles, the early stuff though, not the hippy stuff.
Whats your music???????

I know this one's going to be contentious - I hate Pink Floyd.
I agree that jazz is a capital offence. A quick glance at my CD's reveals techno, goth, metal (even a little bit of "nu-metal"), punk, old indie stuff and Madonna!

No Freeform your style of ColinKanDo is rubbish and wrong! Against an attacker throwing wild geese you, you'd have no chance!
But I'll train with you as long as we can train full contact to kill and with weapons. Nobody will get hurt because my martial arts style appears to have been developed by peace loving pacifist monks.
But but, isn't road rage the worst!? When some little pissant in a repmobile decides to take their all-important stressful day out on you. Happened to me recently when I stopped bumper to bumper with another car, it was a 50:50 challenge the road was only wide enough for one car at the point. Without even being given the opportunity to reverse I got honk horns flashing lights and plenty of obscenities. That really put me off reversing so I stepped out of my car to discuss the situation further. The guy appear to shrivel up behind the car wheel and then reversed pretty quickly. People are just so brave when there inside there car! Grrrh! Anyway it made my day, there a rant with a happy ending! :)

I HATE SLOPPY WEAK SISSY HANDSHAKES!
I can sortta tolerate a weak handshake from another female but I meet 3 guys today and only one of them had a decent handshake. The other two wiggled my fingers, YUK, what the hell is that all about? I've had this happen many times from a variety of men so it's not like I can narrow it down to a bunch of wusses.
If you're going to shake someone's hand (male or female) do it like you mean it. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

People hijacking physics and claiming that it proves this or that or whatever without understanding even the basic principles of what they're talking about.
Sensationalism in the sciences too, I mean, that whole 'mobiles cause headaches' thing? Did anyone else notice that the people funding the research that found these dangers were the same people who suggest paying twenty pounds for a crappy little quartz crystal to disrupt the field and protect you from the harmful effects?
Just too much bloody useless science out there!
LOL... Love the hanshake, LH.
My brother-in-law is the limp handshake master. He goes out of his way to give a pi$$weak one every chance he gets.
But you're steping into the realm of 'secret men's business', you can tell a lot about a bloke about the handshake they give. Don't even ask about the urinal tests!

I've had guys obviously decide they have to prove something to the female martial artist by an over powering handshake.

On top of that these people who keep saying (on the forum too) get a gun. Suprisingly some countries don't allow you to carry guns, I'd love to see how these people handle attackers then. And if they want to play that game then I'll just buy a fully automatic assault rifle with armour piercing bullets (I hear they're legal in Texas), laser sight and infra-red scope. Ain't really gonna help on the street.

I also don't like it when people trash hip hop, real hip hop not RAP. On the explanation side of things today just isn't my day, I got a bill for £1100 in tuition I've already paid, I'm having to pay for an extra month in student accomodation I don't want, I was attacked by a couple of morons while walking home from town, I have massive pains in my legs from where I overworked at the gym (my own fault I know), I've not been able to speak to my fiancee today and there's some stuff I really need to tell her, and my parents are trying to persuade me to not have a honeymoon in Croatia, but to spend a weekend in Devon instead.

Ok, we talk about Women Drivers, and Sunday Drivers etc, but these are pretty unfair generalisations, as there are good women drivers ( 3 at the moment I believe :D ), and not everyone who drives on a Sunday is a bad driver.
I'm making a distinction with what I call 'Flat Cappers', and 'Pink Rinsers'.
They've been driving for 50 years, having traded in their horse and carts for a rusty old Volvo, and feel it is their god given right to veer about all over the road, stopping suddenly to admire an old church, or someones garden, completely oblivious to the fact there are, in fact, other people using the roads. Often seen driving along in first gear the wrong way up a one way street, gesturing people out of their path, oblivious to the havoc they cause.
Over their Scone and tea at the smelly old cafe in Eastbourne they frequent every Friday, they grumble on about the speed some of these younger drivers go at on the motorways.
We wouldn't have to go so fast on the motorways, if it wasn't for you old sods crawling myopically about town. We have to make up the time you old gits!
If this describes anyone you know, please do me a favour, and cut their brake cables!
Much Better.......thanks!

Very very true Andy, I'm glad I don't have weapons attached to my car or many of them would be smoke by now :)
To that list I'd like to add taxi drivers that cut you up and drive like lunatics because its their "right" as their working. And people that hook a caravan onto their car! How people enjoy caravan holidays amazes me, but the pain they cause to other motorists is ludicrous!

Ever been in a public washroom, gone into one of the stalls, only to find that some idiot has pissed ALL OVER the seat? And left his business floating in the bowl? And completely unrolled the toilet paper and thrown it around the washroom? WHAT IS SO FUNNY ABOUT THAT?!?!?!?! I wish I could catch one of these guys in the act, just so I could toss them around the washroom, and make them LICK their own urin! ......................... I feel better.

A very local issue but........
Sterling currency!
Why is it that while I pay my taxes, and absorb evey ridiculous policy issued by both local and national government, that English people are so ignorant regarding currency?
If I want to pay for something with a Scottish £5 note (marked Sterling), I don't expect to get treated like a counterfitter or second class citizen.
The only reason you English have a country, let alone a currency, is because the Celtic nations (Irish, Welsh & Scot's ) fought your wars for you and built all the bridges, dam's, canals and wealth for you.
What do we ask for?
Not a lot! ( Cept maybe; please don't talk to us?)
Be condescending to us when it is established your chin isn't part of your neck. Until such times, keep yer stiff upper lips, your poncy accents and dubious (obviously French) (obviously inbred to the point of deformity) racial heritage to yourselves.
N.B.
(The English people referrred to here are a select minority, usually found South of Birmingham. It is a well known fact that everyone North of Birmingham is actually Scottish. Yes, even the Welsh!!!)

You know what I cant stand....THOSE CRAZY NEW AGE ENVIRONMENTALISTS/VEGANS!!!
Now, I dont mind people who care about the environment or people who choose not to eat meat. I'm talking about the fanatics that come to my door and start yapping about how we have to save the whales, snails, quails etc and how I'm going to hell because I've been bad. Their all just hippies in disguise!
Its gotten to the point that when they approach me I say one of the following things before they even get a chance to open their mouths:
1) For every animal you dont eat, I will eat 3.
2) If a cow got the chance to eat you, he would,
3) Whales do nothing but drink our water and eat our sailors, forget them!
4) NO! I will not donate money to a fund that thinks that the only thing wrong with the world is that we dont have enough bike paths.
5) GET A JOB!
6) You dont need marijuana to be creative. Your condition is nothing that a swift kick to the head cant fix.
7) Recycling is just not economically feasible. It takes more fossil fuels and toxic chemicals to break down plastic than it does to create it!!!
OK, just thinking about them makes me furious. I'll continue after I calm down.

Sometimes I wonder just what you guys have been up to! I'd like to add that only a small percentage that a person does donate goes to the bad off individual. Don't you know it cost $ to drive around rented cars and pay people to do the paperwork, and to pay the people who dress in $100+ outfits to represent the charity at the event to raise $.
Kind of makes you wonder don't it? I used to have to "volunteer" through my job at the time, to help a childrens charity. After my
boss wined and dined and "investigated" the rep, I came to the conclusion, I did not want to be involved with it. So I stayed in the background and never "volunteered" info unless asked.
As for the whales, dolphins, marijuana and so forth....I believe until there is constant and unrelenting following of the laws already on the books, with no exceptions, what is going to be solved?
My rant right now is: Where did all the drivers brains go after Thanksgiving here?!!!!!! My roommate, brother, coworkers, neighbors, and I have noticed an upsurge in not looking when changing lanes, turning left in front of oncoming traffic without even looking, and, total lack of courtesy. Heck, I know alot of people have procrastenated, but use a little sense out there. I'm sure your kid doesn't want to visit the hospital on a holiday or find out his parent hurt someone, or even went to jail.

Well I'm off to Germany for a week on Business and let me tell you I absolutely hate the place.
Why?
The food that's why.
It's Pork, pork, pork n pork followed by pork.
It's an art from over there, they can make it look like chicken but it's still pork. You can't get a simple steak or Lamb chop or anything like that. Should you find something that isn't hewn from a pig carcass, then chances are it'll be pickled or cooked in such a way as to render it as pork like as possible.
Add to this the National pre-occupation with consuming beer and you have a nation whose rancid flatulence problem produces more Butane than all the worlds gasworks put together.
I Hate it!
AAAAAaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggh!

It a bit different if a regular contributer - member of the commumity etc posts an occasional ad - but this take take take mentality just winds me up.
The same goes for people who lurk on forums for an extended period of time, maybe posting the occasional "yeah, I agree" post - but then jump in whenever they have a product to sell or a seminar to advertise. I know quite a few of these blatant spongers and it WINDS ME UP!!!!!

When you're in the hardware store trying to buy a lock and the guy behind the register is eating and trying to hit on you at the same time. I'll tell you, fast food lettuce does not look appetitising hanging on the side of a guys mouth.

An hour and a half later you battle your way to the check outs, endure the old lady in front of you counting out coins from her 'piggy bank', only to have some patronising young female assume that you, being male, can't work a plastic bag, and condescends to pack for you, putting frozen goods with canned, and fresh goods with dried, no matter the careful order you placed them on the conveyer belt to ease unpacking at home!

In total, I've had 11 break ins or attempted break ins to my various modes of transport over the years!
Theft of Car Stereo's and personal belongings, sometimes of sentimental value ( I loved that Playstation you B******s).
11th April, attempted break in to my Ford Mondeo, with nothing of value left visible resulted in £280 of bodyshop repairs thanks to the attempt to chisel open the doorlock, taking off the handle in the process. Not to mention the inconvenience of having to open the drivers door, by entering through the passengers side.
28th April, different location, same thing has happened again.
Many thanks to the local police for their helpful 'Victim Support' leaflet detailing organisations I can contact to discuss my distress.
One of these days, Mr 'Car Criminal', I'm going to catch you in the act.
You'll receive a polite but firm invitation to get in the trunk of my car, and after a short drive to a secluded country spot, you will be thoroughly educated in the error of your ways in a manner the authorities might possibly frown upon. You will then be stripped naked and tied to a streetlight outside a local gay bar, with the words 'gagging for it' written across your buttocks with an indelible marker.
