I'll be teaching a course for the Bureau of Law Enforcement for the State of New Jersey from July 31 to Aug 4th. I'll be staying in the Toms River area and would like to check out some Hapkido schools in the area. Since I'll be teaching during the day, I would like to see what's out there instead of sitting in my hotel room. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I just returned last night from Toms River, NJ, where I was teaching a Defensive Tactics course for the Bureau of Law Enforcement. Because my free time was limited, I didn't get to check out any martial arts schools in the area. But as usual, my good friend, Master Frank Huff made the trip down from his home to have dinner with me and catch up on all that has been going on since we last talked. I can count the number of close friends I have on one hand, and Master Huff is one of those closest of friends.
This was my first trip to the Toms River area and I had a great time. The area in and around Toms River is beautiful. Even though the weather was a bit much 97 degrees that felt more like 107 degrees!!!! it was still a great trip. I met some of New Jersey's finest Law Enforcement officers, and will be making plans for a future return trip. One thing that I really found interesting is the WaWa Food Stores. I got a sandwich there everyday. I was told that they were mainly located in New Jersey and I'm looking into seeing if they would bring one out to California. WaWa exceeds in areas where 7-11 falls flat on it's face!!
Once again, thatns to Frank Huff for the great dinner and I hope the next time I get out to Toms River I can take some side trips and visit some of the other Hapkido schools / instructors in the area.
Stay safe,

Wawa's dominate southeast PA where they started (Wawa, PA). I miss them dearly as I live in Northern CA now. I love their coffee and their hoagies...(tuna salad please, with pickles, lettuce, tomato...)

Hadn't checked in recently and I can see that I got two responses from my post. But neither had anything to do with Hapkido schools in and around Toms River, NJ. I guess WaWa is more popular!! :bang:
