Pop-ups on Every page....

Right, i know they are necessary for some kind of income off the site. But every page?
Its driving me insane, anyone would think you're trying to download some illegal wares or something for all the ads that are pushed at us.
The banner ones dont annoy me, but the popup java/macromedia ones are just a tad OTT.

I only visit these pages now when i have the energy to close popups that come at me faster and more often than enemies in an online shooting game.

I use Popup Killer - it's free and deals with all but the flash banner ads.

I meant chat does'nt support opera, so during those times I have to depend on IE, to post I use just good ol' opera :D

But surely an admin suggesting a popup killer only confirms that the popups are as useless as they are annoying.

I agree - if MAP could be run without them then it would be.

Things are in the pipeline to get rid of them but it's gonna take time.

Also - don't confuse my "Admin" status with "Site owner" - I am not.

I dont mind the pop ups, get past them and there is a wealth of information waiting to be found.

I get loads. Especially in the TKD forums, every single page within there.

And im not confusing admin with site owner, only thinking that perhaps an admin oppinion is closely in sync with a site owner on many aspects, so im far from pointing any fingers at you yoda :D

Donate isnt actually a bad idea.
On the Jolt forums (mulitplayer gaming thang) you can pay for Premium Forums. Those with this dont see any adds, get a custom title and avatar and sig (which arnt normally allowed).

Perhaps a premium user scheme could be setup here? Obviously there would have to be fairly tempting rewards for someone willing to pay :D

Hmmm. How about taxation on posts?

You pay for 100 posts, and admins can "fine" people for posting nonsense, like fining them 20 posts that they've already paid for.

Perhaps only in the future :D

No popups got me confused.

If i use the pc in work i get loads of popups and an advert at top of page.

My home pc - no popups, no advert at top of page.

I have not used a popup killer so cannot understand why i don't get them on home pc (not complaining, just be good to know)
i use internet explorer 6, free avg antivirus and free zonealarm
but cannot find any where in these programs that blocks popups.
