Hi Gajah Silat,

I would love to obtain a scanned copy of Javanese Silat: Fighting Art of Perisai Diri. Is it possible for you to send me a copy? Please let me know when you get the chance.

Sorry, not been on MAP for a little while.

No problem mate, also got another out of print silat book by Don Draeger on Cd somewhere.

PM your address & I'll copy them and stick a copy in the post. Might need a little time to unearth them at home though!!!

Hi,

They are both PDF files so I'll try emailing them. Can't attach files via the MAP email.

I'll send an email to you. Just reply and I'll get your email address(will save making it public!). I'll root them out and try sending via an attachment. If it doesn't work I can stick a copy on CD and put it in the post. Shouldn't be too much to post a CD to Oz.

Cheers

Sorry guys. Still haven't found the CD. It will no doubt turn up when I least expect it!

Did you manage to download the other one I sent via a file sharing site?

On page 21 there is a listing of 10 Sikap (stances). Look at the 7 animal Sikap. Number-4 (kuda kuningang / brass horse) and Number-5 (lingsang / otter). Niether are part of the nine primary sikap. They are "extras" if you will. Also they didn't list Sikap Minang (water buffalo), which is the first technique you study in depth after gaining red-belt.
