How do you utilize the elements of water, earth, wind, fire and no-thing in your martial arts? What do they mean to you? How do they influence your life in business, school, relationships.
Any thoughts or observations.

The elements you mention are associated with our basic kata, but as a beginner, I'm still focused on the physical performance, and have not yet internalized the elements.

You can learn about these things by reading the 'book of five rings'.
But , Earth is the strength, wind is softness, water is flow, fire is speed, and no-thing or void is the stillness which exists before anything.
This has been a very simple explanation of course, but if you look here http://www.famgrau.com/FoxDojo/index.htm you can read more about each element and how they can influence your martial arts.
