Hi everyone.
I am new here so please be gentle. For the last couple of months I have been looking for a school teaching shaolin Kung fu in London.
I recently took a trial class at the shaolin temple UK (http://www.shaolintempleuk.org) and was disappointed in the level of instruction and the crowded classes.
I am about to try out a class at Wahnam (http://www.wahnam.com) but can hardly afford the kind of prices they are charging.
Can anyone recommend a school/instructor in London?
Your help will be greatly appreciated as I am becoming increasingly desperate.

The Shaolin temple has classes from 6am onwards, doesn't it? Are they all crowded?
Just about every style there is can claim Shaolin if it wants to. There's loads of top stuff in London: what are you after?
This is supposed to be where I plug my style.

Wing Chun, Northern Mantis and tai Chi. Ask them. They have a school in Plymouth not listed on the site so it's more than likely there's one in London.

Try Yap Leong. He runs the martial arts shop in Chinatown.

Yap Leong's website is:
www.martialarts.co.uk
He teaches Shaolin Fists system, which is based on Five Ancestors (Ngor Cho Kun) and the Five animals system.
You'll find class details on his website.
Where abouts in London are you lookking for a class Omni?
I used to train in Lau Gar Kung Fu with Stan Brown at the Martial Arts Federation in Tottenham when I was down south a year or so ago. Not Shaolin exactly (see David's post!) but it is a traditional Chinese style and IMHO Stan Brown is a very good teacher. He used to hold classes in a few different locations round London so there might be one near you if you fancy trying it out.
BTW, Did you get to a Wahnam class yet? They've got a few schools in the UK and I've heard a lot about how expensive it is but I don't know anyone who's actually been to a class yet. Is it worth the second mortgage? ;)
