Hapkido club near Northampton, UK?

I'm interested in Hapkido and I'm looking for a club near or in Northampton in the UK.

Does anyone happen to know if there's one?

I don't know about Hapikido, but there is an Aikido club in Northampton. You said in a boxing post that you're looking for a place between Rugby and Northampton. Where is it that you live as I live in this area (when not at Uni). Are you looking for a particular art or are you open to suggestions?

Leeless: I live in Daventry so Rugby and Northampton are both ok for me. Ideally, I'd like to find something that doesn't take me more than 20-30mins to get to.

Re what I'm looking for. I just got my BB in TKD and I've seen a lot of TKD people who also train in HKD. As for boxing, it's just something that I wanted to do for a while because I think I will enjoy it.

However, if you have any suggestions I'd like to hear them.

So are you just going to do it because they do? :confused: :D
As I've said before, Aikido has many things in common with Hapkido, and the founders of both arts were taught by the same guy. You might want to check it out.

As for boxing, it's just something that I wanted to do for a while because I think I will enjoy it.


There's a Kickboxing Gym in Long Buckby which I trained at for a while. It's a little pricey but they spar and train fighters for fights. You might want to check it out as well.

Let me know where you end up and what you think. Always ioterested to hear about MA's in this areas of Northamptonshire/Warwickshire.

i live in the same kind of area and the closest Hapkido you will find is Leamington Spa on a Monday evening Hinckley on a Thursday. The training time on Monday is 7-9pm and cost will be approx £6.50 pr lesson.

The teachers name is Kevin Dorrington as far as I know but I've never been.

By the way , see if you like it - don't just do it because other people do.
If you don't enjoy it then you won't learn.

Thanks for the info. I am going to go to the one at Leam next Monday and see how it goes.

BTW, I'm not doing it just because others do it, but that's how I got to know of Hapkido. I'm planning to have a go at various different things. I would like to continue my TKD training and do another couple of arts such as Muay Thai. There's a Chinese Boxing club near here too and I think a Judo club. I'll give all of them a go and see which one I like best!
