last august i joined GM Hwang's Eagle Hapkido. because of academic & personal reasons i decided to take the second semester off, being 4 months. now, the school year's over, and my last exam's on tuesday. once i'm done, i'll give Master Hwang a shout :) .
now, i've really become impatient & really just want to get my yellow belt. but i know this impatience would only hinder my quest to advance to the next level. how do i keep myself sane enough to train patiently & absort the white belt knowledge like a good Hapkido student would?
i've also got really interested in mixed martial arts, and have quite a few buddies that i want to train with. i also have a heavy bag at home that i love to punch. these two things might also hinder my Hapkido advancement, because i might be mixing other techniques & mechanics into my Hapkido movements.
should i just stick to Hapkido & nothing else this summer, until i have a better grasp of the art?
