View Full Version : jean claude van damme vs undertaker
first i wanna say that they r my favourites. we all know that both of them played tough guy roles on tv. jean claude is said to be a great kickboxer & undertaker is said to be an awesome wrestler. but remember both movie & wrestling r choreographed. however it duzn't mean that they can't beat an average man. my question is what would happen in real life if undertaker took on van damme.

i get tired of some of you lot, serious all the time, if it aint hardcore MA then it dont matter. answer the kids question, he isnt offecnding you is he!? I think Undertaker would. Jean Claude seems athletic, but im not sure about his MA credentials, there are people who say hes a Kickboxer/karate champ. UT is a wrestler, and pro wrestlers jobs are painful, even if they are fake, so my money is on UT. hes also conditioned excellent.

hey i don't mind it just seems to me that his posts round the forum have all asked similar pretty pointless questions

Thats ok, but look at his postcount. Hes new, he probably doesnt even know that van damme isnt really "that good", i certainly didnt before i came to this forum. I wouldnt have put it in the jokes forum anyway. Just my opinion :)

This wouldn't be a good fight. Now Bruce Lee vs Andre the Giant would be a huge match. Imagine the brute super strenght and endurance of Andre the Giant against the super quick, supreme technical martial artist master Bruce Lee.

My money is on JCVD. He may not be Karate champ, but we aren't either. He is a tough guy with lots of back ground. Once you know how to punch you punch that way, you don't forget it. Under taker may be strong and whatever but I don't see him being able to get used to a MA's style fight as fast as you may think.
I think one of the best fights would have been Mas Oyama VS. Bruce Lee, or Choki Motobu VS. Gichin Funakoshi.

Van Damme will try to use some speed against 'Taker. Do his split-leg kick he loves so much, Taker will block, step in grab VD's throat and chokeslam, then finish with a lovely Tomstone.

the undertaker because I saw a hell's angel talking to howard stern about kicking van damme's ass. He slipped trying to do a kick and the guy took him out. I do think van damme is a good actor though. He was one of my idols when I was younger. Seems as though he is kenpo/gymnast and unrealistic.

The undertaker: Big name in Pro-rasslin.

The hells angel who kicked JCVD's ass was Chuck Zito, golden glove boxer and karate dude. Details can be found on Mr. Zito's webpage here: http://www.chuckzito.com/new1.html

Sorry, are we actually talking about the practicalities of Jean Claude Van Damme vs the undertaker (a guy who plays a "dead" wrestler).

Maybe but he is still old, still slow and still boring to watch. Also if you follow wrestling closely you will know he's very selfish, he has been on top for years and never passed the torch to anyone.
He could probably tan your hide to :D

then again, you could run around aimlessly until he leaves an opening, then kick him in the nards...hehe. i doubt even the undertaker could take that. but the chances of the undertaker running around in a drunken rampage...the cops would probably have shot him by then :woo:

Van Damme would win. Alot of people put him down because they dont think he is a real Martial Artist but its been proven guys so stop throwing that crap on him and as far as the Undertaker gos ya hes big and might put up a good fight but come on guys seriously WWE Wrestling is FAKE!!!!! get over it ,its nothing but a soap opera with fighting added into it , its all setup the whole thing, if you want to see real fights please watch UFC or Pride Fighting Championship or K-1 ect.

Well he is big, but I don't think an actor or semi trained "professional" wrestler could stop a highly trained martial artist. I'll still take JCVD.

I know for a fact that Van Damme wouldn't have a chance against the Undertaker. I would fancy my own chances against the muscles from Brussels....Just because you can wear leg warmers and do the splits it doesn't mean you can fight!
I know for a fact that Van Dammes fighting career was very 'limited' to say the least - can anyone prove that he even fought in any discipline?
Oh, and Im just as sexy as 'the Muscles' to boot...

...
The young van Varenberg suffers a lot; he gives up several times but he feels an inexorable strength in him which binds him to his future. Body-building for hours and hours, repeating jabs in the air with weights in his hands, stretching and splits, endurance, karate moves: training with Goetz is almost like hell!
At seventeen years, Jean-Claude has developed physically and has more self- esteem. Sensible to classical music, he takes dancing lessons during four years, but karate remains his main priority. He succeeds in controlling his fear and takes part in many demanding fights. His opponents fear his speed and the strength of his legs.
After having won the European in teams in 1979, Jean-Claude takes part in the World Championship in Wako, Florida. Amazed by the USA, that he discovers for the first time, our young karateka skips training. He gets defeated by the Belgian Teugels who becomes Vice-Champion of the World.
A few months later, Jean-Claude takes his revenge and beats Teugels in less then two minutes. A strenuous training, and a rage to win : the young Van Varenberg will remember the lesson.

you could never tell. unless van damme actually had brain damage and was stupid enough to try and punch the undertaker, we will never know if he could inflict pain, let alone injury. undertaker in a minute.

The Undertaker of course. He has to train because he will get hurt if he doesn't and because it is part of his job. Van Damme probably has not trained for a fight in years.

Post 2000 JCVD movies..
Double Team, Abominable, The Replicant, The Monk, The Order, In Hell, Derailed.
Most are American movies but by Hong Kong Directors. In fact, great HK directors like John Woo, Tsui Hark, Ringo Lam made their first US movie using Van Damme.
From Hell is about him in a Russian prison and its great, testing out his acting ability.
Why all the hostility against Van Damme? He's great! and the only time he had a mullet (i think) was during Hard Target by John Woo.
Hands whiskey to woman.."Drink, but do not spill. You kill the grass"

You have to forgive these Van Damme dammers here. Personally, I rather liked his performance in Legionnaire and The Replicant (the clone not the killer). As for the others.... :(
You can't really ask much asking talent from a genre that doesn't cultivate it.

Interesting debate.
Van Damme wins this clash of the titans with surprising ease IMO. He utilises his under rated skills and versatile attack to wrap the Undertaker in a cocoon of horror.
I see Brussels’ favourite son winning via submission, utilising his spandex uniform to choke out the WWE colossus.
This is a terrific match up, lets hope the ‘money men’ can get their heads together and make this one a reality. I would buy the PPV fo sho.
