Silat Grappling ?

Is it true that a Silat person will position his body in a certian way to avoid knife attacks when he puts a lock on them ? I herd that Silat people will lock at the shoulder more than the wrist when they grapple . Also what is the striking whith hands like in Silat is it like Chinese Kung Fu or is it differnt ? What kind of fist techniques do they use ? There was a guy on another forum who practiced Brazian Jujisu who was attacked buy a gig attacker and he tried to use some kind of Brazilian Jujitsu lock on the ground what happened is the attacher was locked by the guy in some kind of ground lock arm bar i think but the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed the guy in the neck and the guy was bleeding . The point is the guy was stabbed while he had the attacker in a lock but he was stabbed , this why i herd that Silat people will position there body in a certian way when they lock people in grappling with some one with a knife . Thats what i herd .
