Sure there is, but it's not an art for Gary unless he's suffered a bit for it :D
Me, I drive 25 miles or so once a week for my private lessons and no more than quarter of an hour for my karate-robics stuff three times a week.
And I play really cool mp3's all the way there and back :)

Not with an Instructor like mine!
I've trained at loads of Dojos and i just click with this Instructor but i do go to local dojos within 100 miles of home but thats main Dojo.
We must suffer a bit for it to be good, eh? pinky!

but 200+ miles...
whats so amazing about this instructor that makes you willing to travel 200+ miles?

The guy is really laid back, no ego, not a moneymaker and really talented and knowledgeable.
When i train with someone new i 'play' just to test myself but i've never ever come close with this guy and the stuff works.
I finish the 2 hour lesson soaked with sweat and covered in bruises, now thats training.

6 km to local tkd, 15km to boxing, 2 km to the gym, and 25 km to uni.
The thing with me is, on my way back home from uni, there is another tkd which I goes to... since I would have to goto school anyway, I shouldn't really count this one... if I count it then it'll be 0 km.

I'm lucky in that a little over a year ago, our school moved, and is now about 3.5 miles away, instead of 20. :D
I'm also wondering why the poll results are hidden?

Drive to the station, 5 miuntes. Jump on the train for 5minutes and I'm at my boxing gym.
Soon, I'll be starting MMA which is across the road from the station, so only a 5 minute drive to training :D.

20 minute drive to get to my dojo.
Have considered switching to something closer, but only hypothetically. Love my club, and the distance is worth it.
Travel 12 miles round trip to one, 25miles to another and 60 miles to the last one. There all worth it though. Sometimes you have to travel to get good quality training, and i would rather travel than get some second rate instructor.

My karate club was shortest as it was a 10 min walk - then I moved which put me 30 miles away. I also trained in Kobujutsu which was 50 miles away. Eventually it got too much and I gave up both.
Now my clubs are reachable by car (roughly 6 miles - so I suppose a bike / running is possible) but I can also get to one by public transport (tram / bus) . . . I am much happier.

I live outside London in a place called Sutton in Surrey *look it up on a map to see the distance*I go from my work place in Westminster to South Kensington at about 6 to start a 7 pm lesson. It finishes at 9 I get home at about 11, then my other class is outside London in East Acton I leave at 6 and leave East Acton at 10:30 if I am not chatting to anyone and get home at 11:30...I travel far but my teachers are worth it!

About a 45-50 mile round trip for my Saturday Tang Soo Do training. I'm with the others talking about travelling for the quality of the instructor.
I visit a karate class during the week ('visitor' status - not advancing ;)) and that is all of 50 feet away from my work desk (the public room on the floor above :D )
how can it be uphill both ways?
If it's good training, it can feel that way :D ;)

I'm extremly bloody lucky, as while most dojos/kwoons here in Manchester are in the town center a good 20 min bus ride away, the kwoon I go to happens to be virtually round the corner from my house! It's probably a 60-70 second walk down the a-joining road.
But let me tell yas, when you're recovering from having your toe nails removed, yer thankful for such small mercies! :D
It takes me 30 minutes to get to my TKD/HKD class (10-20 miles), for tournaments and testings it can be over an hour to get there, 40-50 miles or even more, depending on where they are held at. The good news is, it only takes 5-10 minutes to get to my Judo class, 1-3 miles.
