So... ummm... "breathing" Cho Geup Hyung would be a good thing?...

Except having it on each breath is making it just a little hard to work...

I don't disagree.... but is that an effort to teach from a different perspective, add variety,or just a way to keep you busy? Of course the teacher will point out all the benefits , I do it also, as we do both sides from time to time. But, I think there is enough in ksw and doing everything opposite side just doubles the amount of busy work without learning deeper. I think most Black belts have enough to do. Think about it,,,,just about the time you have the hyung memorized, then you train it hard to the point that the movements are accurate to the best of your understanding, and you begin to be able preform it so it flows well w/o thought, you are to the point where it is time to apply breath application, internal aspects, etc(higher level stuff),,,but wait we need to start over from the other side....?!?!?!?!?!!? come on!!! now you have a bunch of people who can do huyng left and right but still know very little about what they are supposed to be doing... great exercise/experience ? yes. added insight to the purpose of hyung? i'm not so sure, mabye a little..... worth the time considerining all the other things we need to do in ksw? ????????? Thats up to you to decide???

The easiest way to teach somebody nothing, try to teach them everything ......

I think emberKSW is asking if one should "apply breath application" when performing Cho Guep Hyung.

It would be nice to spend more time on when to breath in forms. I've been told every time there ki-ahp, there is a new breath, also that a ki-ahp is for a power strike. I'm not sure these two views aren't contradictory, and I'm not sure they are.

Nope, thanks for trying. I have all the answer I need for now, and I know who to ask if I have more questions.

Sort of on the subject, I used to get tired very quickly when doing hyung as I'd hold my breath when executing strikes, or kicking etc and so now I try to breathe easily and not hold my breath at all, which makes it much better for me. How do you breathe during forms? Do you start to pant a bit towards the end of the form or still try to keep it controlled while still focusing on movement and stance?

Maybe you are in better shape?

Well I don't know if thats the case actually, it could be, but I think it was the way I used to perform my forms and hold my breath, probably as I'd be concentrating on the movements and my stance more. I did kickboxing for 2 years before starting KSW so I weren't in bad shape at all.
